I have a problemm with my computer. When i try to load a 3D graphix game i have installed, i see the opening movie and sounds, but then i get a black screen. When i try to install a new game, i install it, then just get a blank screen. The only game that still works for me is Sim City 4, but i get an error message when i open it tahrt says "cant initilize directdraw"

Please help me :pray:

Anyone...

problem solved.. thanks for the help

I had a similar problem when i first bought Oblivion for my old computer, the opening cutscene played but would stop working as soon at it had finished. I installed the latest drivers for my graphics card and that seemed to clear the problem up so I'd recommend you do the same.

how do i insatll new drivers?

What graphics card do you have? You need to know the manufacturer and model. Then type the manufacturer into google, go to the drivers section of their website, locate your card and download the driver to your desktop. Then run the downloaded file and follow the screen prompts.

Also I did give you a link to graphics drivers on Assist-X, take a look, it might be helpful as there's also a list of the most common manufacturers there, click HERE to see.

What does that have to do with it?

I guess you didn't notice their mention of "DirectDraw"??? Or the fact that updating their graphics driver failed to cure this problem they are having? :geek:

Last Tip: If it turns out that DirectDraw still isn't functioning, then reinstall DirectX... that should cure it. 8-)

Good luck to you. ::'
