ClareJonsson
Sounds like the graphics drivers are corrupted, try re-installing them. [Assist-X]
z0diark
I had a similar problem when i first bought Oblivion for my old computer, the opening cutscene played but would stop working as soon at it had finished. I installed the latest drivers for my graphics card and that seemed to clear the problem up so I'd recommend you do the same.

ClareJonsson
What graphics card do you have? You need to know the manufacturer and model. Then type the manufacturer into google, go to the drivers section of their website, locate your card and download the driver to your desktop. Then run the downloaded file and follow the screen prompts. Also I did give you a link to graphics drivers on Assist-X, take a look, it might be helpful as there's also a list of the most common manufacturers there, click HERE to see. I guess you didn't notice their mention of "DirectDraw"??? Or the fact that updating their graphics driver failed to cure this problem they are having? :geek: ~D. V. jasignhagj
thanks for all your help. turns out the problem was that my graphics card had hardware rendering turned off. I turned it on, which means that i can play runescape HD and all my games :!: :D to turn hardware rendering on
