If i were to check the urns for snakes then search them, would it be the same amount of xp if i had just searched them without checking for snakes?

Nope, you get less exp. I'm not sure how much less - but I'm 100% sure it's less.

Ehh, just so this doesn't cause misinformation, I'd like to state that you DO get extra exp for it. I believe it's 1.5x total exp. it just takes a bit longer. The best strategy is to "check for snakes" at all the urns in the room previous to the max for your level.

 

 

 

Charming the snakes on the other hand lessens experience.
