Killy the Kid, this is my best story so far. Enjoy.

Celestial Beings (Copywright 2008 and all that)

Prologue

It is the future! Began the old man to his new students, he was wrinkly and white haired, but he was straight-backed and moved with some kind of energy that could put an athlete to shame, if he so desired. Compared only to the past, which will for ever be linked to the present. No response was forthcoming from his students, they never responded to this, thats why he said it. Or, if you prefer, since we are forever moving forward in the present, we can only be in the future if we are viewing, and learning from, the past.

Around the plain, and unadorned class room, there were some nods, this was a history class, after all. Im sure you know all the stories, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander the Great and Napoleon. I dont need to tell you about ancient kings and presidents. I know that Mrs. Henrich, your previous history teacher, gave you the entire history of the world. However, I need to tell you about the past of your grandfathers grandfathers day, the days when the world was brought to its knees by those who wanted to be Celestial Beings.

The class made a little response, they had heard of the stories, of Genesis and Royal Wellington, of the people who threw away their humanity to attempt becoming like gods. They were, however, largely untaught in the nuances of the entire portion of that worlds history: why there is only one government, and why there is only one religion, and other questions. The old man knew that the future was dependant on people not making the mistakes of the past.

Now then, who wants to ask the first question? You, in the back.

The boy was the class clown, he was a joker and a teaser, but always knew what buttons to push to get himself out of trouble. So, you going to teach us from first-hand experience then? He smiled and the class laughed, but, what was more surprising was that the old man laughed, then, became serious and wrote something down on a piece of paper.

No, I have movies for that. Also, grades will be very lenient, however, at the end of the year, there will be a gigantic test, and it will cover absolutely everything. Day-to-day grades will be according to whether or not you pay attention, dont distract others, and dont mouth off to me. The class clown paled a bit, he was barely passing, and that old man was serious.

Anything else, then? The old man looked around, not a hand raised. Good, I we shall begin tomorrow, since this is your last class for today Ill let you out early. The class left hurriedly, some saying good-bye and others avoiding him. He smiled, it was same every year. He walked around and observed what he had taught in for more than twenty years. The class room was plain and boring without students. A large screen dominated the wall he stood in front of and his desk was without any personalization. The room was a dark gray and light seemed to be absorbed by it. Students would come in, forget everything except but the screen and learn about days gone by.

The next day came and the students filed in, a little more eager.

This film takes liberties, as do all documentaries, however, it takes a look at one person in particular, the man who could have had the world, Genesis, and this shows his later life. From his last great battle against the normal humans that inhabited the northern hemisphere, and to the day he realizes just what he is, and lastly, finishes with Royal Wellington, the hero of the normal humans and the true victor of this tale, be it a Pyrrhic victory.

They were all quiet, he could almost hear them saying: Get on with it! He smiled as he obliged them, turning on the screen as the voice of Jonn P. Phedy, now dead, began in much the same, ominous tone as the teacher had.

Chapter 1

It is the future, compared only to the past, which will for ever be linked to the present. This was once said by a politician, in a speech, pleading with voters to elect him. His name was forgotten, but, like great things, his words live on.

Back some time ago, when humanity didnt understand the philosophy of using their own technology and fought great wars with themselves, when they should have been looking at the sky and going up towards the innumerable stars we are just now making our homes, when humanity was an evil race, constantly backbiting and killing, even more than now, there was the nano-machines

The gigantic screen faded, and it changed to show a scientist where a white lab coat, a horizontal striped shirt and khaki pants was showing off a test tube, as well as animals and charts to an amphitheatre full of scientists and journalists. It was unfortunate that Nichos Hilden, the genius once said to be five-hundred years ahead of his time, was demonstrating his newest invention, the nano-machines that can integrate with flesh itself, to a panel of people who believed that certain lines should not be crossed.

The voice stopped as the characters on the screen began to move and talk. As you can see, these animals are completely fine, non-aggressive and, if possible in the case of the rabbit, much, much cuter! He spread his arms wide and smiled, this was his greatest invention! Mankind could be helped a thousand times over by a mere third of these nano-machines functions! Become more than we are! We-

What a load of junk! You expect us to be gods? Celestial beings who can do as they will? Ive listened to all of this, and you tread on ground that was once tread on by gods and demons. There are some obvious benefits, but what about over-crowding? Reproduction? Souls? I do not think we should accept these nanites as profitable for humanity. The man who interrupted was old and gray, bent over nearly double, he made his points with his left hand, his right leaned heavily on a cane.

I have to agree. Came from another scientist, this was a young man, noted for making astute observations, however, he was not as creative as his peers. What happens if something goes wrong? I dont want to approve something that is a danger to humanity! Your machines are computers, correct? Then, what would happen if one line of code misplaced, or a virus destroys them? It would be devastating. Your invention is brilliant, but I dont think this was well thought out. Im sorry.

Jonn P. Phedys voice began again as the screen faded to black and a new picture, that of a world still divided into continents. Nichos Hilden fought long and hard, but no one, except for his wife, ever gave him an encouraging word concerning his great creation. Eventually, his wife died defending him verbally before a protest which turned into a violent riot. He became bitter, and, deciding that he had to improve humanity himself, he began experiments. Finding them all favorable, he released his nano-machines into the water ways of some of the most crowded portions of the third world. Mexico City, especially, was the focus of his actions, and the entire citys population became infected with his children as he called the Nanites. And the rest of the southern hemisphere followed. The map showed red streaking out all over the south, starting at Mexico, it spread south to Isle de Fuego and then Africa and Australia fell too.

Scientists found out after the AIDS epidemic in Africa died out. People thought it a miracle from God, but scientists such as Dr. Grendon, the old man who spoke up first at the original hearing, instinctively knew that Hildon had done this. He became the enemy of the world, and was captured, and, after a lengthy trial, was executed. However, he was able to program the nanites to improve intelligence before he was taken away.

The afore mentioned Dr. Grendon went to work on curing the Nanites, but, at every turn, the Nanites thwarted his attempts. Eventually, those whose lives had been improved by the nanite-enhanced people gathered to together and fought off the scientists and others who were attempting to turn them back into normal humans.

They organized, forming what they called The Conclave where they planned to ensure their own survival, and they moved on, to the conquer the entire world and improve it! That was Nichos Hildons dream, and for it, he became the enemy of the world, and they too became just as reviled. It was a very bloody battle as Texas became a field of blood as the war continued with out end, at least, until Alexander Wellington, the British Forces Commander and Arcad Demmic, the commander of the U.N. peace keeping force were able to beat them back.

However, they were only able to keep the line at the Rio Grande, and peace, a very tenuous peace, came upon the earth. Until ten years passed, and again, there was another bloody war, and another stalemate occurred, and a treaty was signed. The Saint Louis Peace Accord, which was to last forever, was signed, and for fifty years, there was peace. Until the Generals, Wellington and Demmic, died, as did the original generations of nanite-enhanced humans.

A new Conclave was formed, with seven able commanders each with a specialty at its head. Because they wanted to sound powerful, and intimidating, they called it the Jupiter Conclave and they waged war! Please enjoy the dramatization using the best in three-dimensional animation.

The screen faded again as the school goers moved in their seats, most teachers would have given their left arms for them to pay attention like that.

Chapter 2

The screen then showed the words: Third Nanite War, final year. Then, faded as some sad, but warlike music sounded; that faded too as the names of voice actors scrolled after that title and went black once more.

The screen lit up and what was shown was a golden cross in a field of blue. It backed up to show it was a helmet. And connected to that helmet was a body suit of metallic blue with golden crosses similar to the helmets adorned the chest, shoulders, back and the backs of his hands. The camera continued to back up, until it passed some circuitry and you could see it was some kind of reentry pod.

The point of view moved to above the pod, showing the surrounding, a forest scene, that could be any North American forest, but, this one was on the way the Washington D.C. The battle appeared, fires were running rampant and siege cannons from each side were pounding the field. However, it had the look of a stalemate, as both sides met cleanly in the middle of the newly created clearing.

The pod crashed behind the siege weapons, causing them to falter a bit in their barrage, but, as soon as the operators knew who was coming, they redoubled their efforts.

The one who ranks fifth in the Jupiter Conclave, Genesis! He was the supreme commander of all the land forces that the Conclave produced. This battle had been going on too long, his strategic ability would end it in an instant. He was unstoppable, so strategically able that even the human commander, Royal Wellington, did not look for victory, but rather to retreat with as few casualties as possible.

The pod collapsed and the man came out, his blue armor with its gold embossing covered him completely. The gold cross on his helmet covered where his eyes were and his head tilted toward the commander of the operation, who was rushing to meet him. He stopped suddenly and saluted. Genesis returned the gesture with a bow. The Commander was a gigantic man with a large gun, a soldier to his very core. He was one of the top leaders under Genesis, who trusted him completely, even if he didnt show it.

You shouldnt have had this much trouble, Commander.

Commander gulped, but kept his voice even. Forgive me, there were reinforcements that came from an underground base that we had no intelligence about. We barely achieved air superiority before you arrived. He stood stiffly awaiting the non-forthcoming punishment.

Im not mad, Commander, I was merely curious. Hud! Access battle-field map, real time! Inside his helmet, his vision was obscured by the map, which declared what the commander had said to be true. Only now, the forces seemed to be retreating into the base and defending the entrance, they obviously had more than one exit because Genesis knew it would be foolishness to maneuver yourself into such a death-trap.

Siege weapons! Move firing targets over, .00001 west, .1 north, latitude and longitude, do it! The siege weapons moved into position and began firing, pounding the slowly retreating human troops. Success was in their grasp. Royal Wellington would have to retreat again before Genesis. But, fortunately for him, Genesis had to focus on the war on the entire world, while he only had to defend what was left of America, and take it back from the Conclave.

Sir, word from The First, Lord Jupiter, he wants to speak to you via video-phone.

Genesis scowled, glad for the mask which made him seem emotionless. The First hated him, and constantly sent him on missions that he hoped would kill him off. He stepped into the command center and was instantly attacked by the baleful glare of the First. I want you to win this battle, Genesis! You will win it with minimum casualties as well.

Sir, that may be impossible to completely defeat them, they continue to retreat and their bases are more numerous than our ability to root out and destroy every one.

The First glared at him with an even greater intensity. Excuses! Royal Wellington is no match for you! Finish him! The video-phone winked out and Genesis was left alone. Royal Wellington was the closest thing to a rival he had. Royal was not backed into such a corner as he could no longer escape. Royal will live to fight another day, but his army would not if he had anything to say about it.

Soldiers! Retreat and begin full-scale bombardment! Lets see how Royal Wellington reacts to that! Genesis watched with satisfaction as the estimated number of enemy troops drop sharply in the top-right of his helmet. The First shall be most pleased. He said with a snarl. Commander watched with stoicism, it was no matter to him what Genesis thought about.

Chapter 3

Genesis turned his back to the carnage and began to order the men about to finalize the victory against Wellingtons forces, when the First arrived.

He was dressed in a smoothly contoured armor, absolutely no marks anywhere, a pristine metallic silver. His helmet only had any break to the body armors monotony, it had a jagged thunderbolt mark going across his face, starting at his right temple and ending at the pointed corner of his armored jowl. His eyes and mouth were uncovered, but could be hidden in the case of a battle. It was an eerie effect, to see his eyes twinkle maliciously and yet his smile was the same one would give to a lover after a long separation.

You havent won yet, Genesis. His voice was smoother than silk, it was a great pleasure to hear him talk, however, instead of lulling people, it merely sharpened their perception of his words.

Genesis felt his muscles spasm at that remark. He could not show violence to this man, it would merely give him the much desired excuse. Royal Wellington is a much better retreated than what you give him credit for! Their bases sprawl like webs and we waste troops heedlessly sending troops in to root them out.

Excuses But, I am merciful. The voice quieted, as if he was talking to an erring servant, which, in his mind, Genesis was. I am willing to overlook this transgression, just dont let this happen again. Return to your house. Royal Wellington needs time to recover his forces, and I believe you can come back for a meeting. It will be in two days, do not disappoint. He left Genesis, entering into an airplane and flying off towards the Conclaves seat of government.

Genesis made no comment, but turned his head towards Commander, who understood and called for an airplane to take his general the same direction as the First had taken. Genesis knew that he could not trust himself to speak. He was a soldier, and yet, he continually fought back hatred for his superior.

He arrived at his house, where the original Ares had dwelled, it matched his predecessors taste, dark, but with an extravagance that marked his personality. Many black things had happened in that house, but many grand balls and intrigues had occurred as well. Genesis needed no five storied mansion with a hundred and thirty rooms. He himself only used three not counting the main hall: his bedroom, the library and, occasionally, the dinning room. The only other person that occupied it was his maid servant, Alexia.

She had been trained from her capture in her early youth to provide companionship for the similarly trained Genesis. However, the people who controlled their lives were disappointed by the fact that Genesis has absolutely no interest in her either romantically or as much more than a confidant and a servant. She was at this time completely loyal, though, at one time she tried desperately to kill him.

Welcome back sir. She bowed slightly, she wore clothing that had masses of pockets, filled with all her tools of trade. No messages, no visitors. Genesis nodded as Alexia pressed buttons in places under his mask that he could not reach. It was decreed by Genesis teachers that he could not in any way take off his mask by himself, nor attempt to discover who his parentage was. It was to keep him isolated from himself, but really, it provided him to control over what he says, but his face was a tell-tale book of what he was thinking. He was glad of that mask sometimes.

I thank you, it all seems in order. He said, he said that every time he came in.

Whats bothering you? Alexia cut right to the chase, everything bothered Genesis in some way, but his face was contorted, as if trying to rid his mouth of something sour.

The First. He has yet again criticized my actions on the field and the actions of Royal Wellington!

Alexia sighed in some relief, it was nothing new. She half-pulled the angered Genesis Well, I cant really do anything about that, but just take a moment and think about something good the First has done. In with the good juju and out with the bad, thats directly from my big book of calming exercises. Now, you just sit down and Ill get you some lunch and youll soon feel much better.

-Hiatus - Underground Bunker, Appalachian mountains-

Royal Wellington, the Kings Lion, Commander of the armed forces of the world, and just a human. He stood at the view screen and watched the dots that represented his forces disappear with a sudden sharpness that surprised him. Genesis had unleashed his siege weapons on him, regardless of his own troops. Royal bent his head in memory of his faithful troops, who had most likely gone to **** for him.

He sighed and settled himself in his chair. His aid came in and appraised his looks like she always did. He had long brown hair and light blue eyes. His face was sharply chiseled and his chin mimicked the superheroes in the old cartoons. He had no flaws, and no real distinguishing marks, except for his stare, which was always looking forward.

When she had looked at him enough, she roused him. I have your reports, your strategies have failed. A muscled hand pounded the arm rest. But, the M.I. says that it was all due to that man. The head of Royal bent a little, eyes downcast. Do you require anything? The head of Royal shook and she left, leaving the reports within his reach.

Chapter 4

The Jupiter Conclave was joined. It was a shadowy table of a shadowy organization with goals for the world. The room was black, and the only lights were focused, The chairs had ribbons of light that shined up and the table glowed slightly. Over all, there was an unnecessary air of mystery. Some did not have secret identities, others did and those were known by the others excepting Hades identity only. There were seven in all, from First, Jupiter, to the Seventh, Tethys. Jupiter began.

We, seven like minded people, have gathered to decide the fate of the world. The rest of the seven looked around, Jupiter rarely began anything like this. I have the plans here to finally take over that which has eluded us for so long! The betterment of mankind! He made expansionistic gestures with his hands, as if he really believed what he was saying. The entirety of the world leaders has gathered in one place, the world government seat on the Isle of Man, a once in a campaign opportunity! He had stood, and was beginning to circle, touching the shoulder of one, whispering in the ear of another, until he came to Genesis. And you Genesis, shall be the one to carry out this daring act! He smiled down on him, as if he some son he was proud of.

Tethys was the oldest one there. She was sixty years old and had spent forty fighting and working her way up the ranks. She was called the Old Guard of the Conclave for her age and ideals. Hold on, if anyone is able to lead an assassination, it is Genesis, but how can he get in? Not even our newest stealth submarine could get in.

The First smiled, That has been taken care of my dear He walked to his chair and picked up some papers and expertly flicked them to each of the tables members. Each of these has your duties for this mission. That is all.

Athena was a human infused with nanites and technology from her forties. She had taken no appearance enhancers like Artemis, nor used nanites on a regular basis like Tethys did, she believed in more basic approaches to achieving ones desires. She had grey hair carefully arrayed in a loose pony tail, with some curly strands at the front. So, why did these gather together? As team strategist, I must know; its all too convenient.

It was my personal network of spies. I cant divulge any of the information. Jupiter said without missing a single breath. Athena contented herself with this, but, she knew it was different, and so did everyone else around the table.

Hades tapped on the table. He was more unknown than any of them. They all knew what he did and what he had influence over, but what his real name was? His past? He was named after the Greek god of the underworld, fitting, as he was their leader when it came to spies and general espionage. Artemis, status, satellites? He said in his peculiar manner of speaking.

Artemis jerked from her position, she was the most emotional and wild of the Conclave. She was a dyed red head with [bleep]y hair, which curled a little, like a tight corkscrew, which was her favorite mid-air maneuver. She snarled a little at him, she had been dreading that particular issue. She was the leader of the aero and space initiatives, and currently was in charge of developing the new spy satellites Hades had designed. Its going to be done when it gets done! Those weird canisters you sent me took some time, but theyre in, they launch within the week. Huh, not that I can see any use for them And she slumped a little, sulking.

Hades nodded a little. Need done before years end. Hermes, the Sixth member, snickered at his superiors attitude. He had short hair, a inch from his scalp and very thick, he wore loose fitting and rather inappropriate clothes compared to the occasion. He was the field commander of the air force, while Artemis was his teacher and supposedly his immediate superior, he had no respect for her. Unlike the other members, he had nothing in him that could be considered biological, and had an experimental type of nanite, as did Artemis, that allowed transformation, but his was much more powerful.

My, whos late with results NOW? He said with a sneer, he then snorted loudly. Artemis didnt respond, she couldnt find a fitting comeback, however, he had just added another reason for her to kill him in the near future.

Jupiter clicked his tongue disapprovingly, such insolence among the Conclave! However, he didnt really care. His feelings for others, like his features, had disappeared when he first decided to become Jupiter. I then declare the meeting adjourned, unless there are any questions? Heads shook all around. Good! He left as did the others, who nodded to each other and departed. Athena, however, grabbed Genesis shoulder.

You know, the Conclave is equal here, you could have refused him.

Why? You know as well as I do that it would be a major blow to every normal person in the world. They would be thrown into chaos, for a time, and if I move very quickly, Ill take the advantage in this war, Royal Wellington will try to fight back, but bureaucracy will hold him back, a fatal encumbrance.

Athena squeezed his shoulder, even though she knew he couldnt feel it, and departed, promising him to visit to help him with strategy, that was her job, after all.

Genesis left and arrived at his house, stonily, he greeted Alexia and departed to his library, researching all he could about the base and town on that island, until Athena came in. Alexia let her in enthusiastically, Athena had had a hand in Genesis training as well as Alexias, in fact, she was the closest thing to a parent they ever had. Alexia then departed to her various duties, keeping a close ear for any need they may have.

Athena looked seriously at the young man before her, he had no emotion in his voice, but his face betrayed his thoughts. He didnt want to do this. She knew it too. They talked and talked, which was good, but still, she felt that something was wrong. Then, when there was nothing left to say, he asked her to leave.

As soon as she left the library, she motioned Alexia over to her. How is he, Alexia?

Brooding, I fear the only way to help him is to let him kill Jupiter, but even then What did you do to him? Hes eighteen, and he shows no interest in me, nor in anything else except what he does best. I hate to think what will happen when he has nothing to strive for.

I thank you for staying with him, it means a lot that he can talk to you, it really would be worse if no one was there to support him.

Alexia nodded, but Genesis interrupted them, calling for Alexia to get a snack of some kind. I guess I have to go about my duty, see you around then. She briefly hugged Athena and walked off to the kitchen. Athena shook her head and left to her own quarters, elsewhere in the city.

-Hiatus-

The First, Jupiter, walked into the pitch black room. He knew there was only one thing inside it, and he knew exactly where and what it was. The last true invention of Nichos Hilden before his death, the two way private holograph communicator. He had one, and so did one other person. Only one knew the identity of the other, and Jupiter was somewhat clueless about his partners name and nearly everything else, except that he had great power.

How goes our plans? The hologram winked to life and the rainbow colored form of a man with his hands in his pockets, the eyes stood out, as Jupiter knew his did, with a strange brilliance compared with the rest of his multi-colored body.

Perfectly, Genesis will be leaving in two days. Heh, I hope he dies, little brats been winning, but he is just an illegitimate son with no use outside of war.

I dont want him to die. He is the only reason this plan will succeed is because of his skill and strategic ability. That is all. Will you be sending a strike force with him?

Of course! They would get suspicious if I didnt!

No, they were suspicious from your opening statement.

How do you? Jupiter said, this was a frightening development, if their sanctum was tapped and the taps were discovered; it would ruin his chances at getting their plan to succeed.

Because, I know you, you make theatrics whenever you want to hide something. It makes people on their guard. Not to mention your voice causes people to completely understand you.

I dont really want to hear that. Is there anything else or is the baton yours?

Nothing, youve done your part, now watch me do mine with much more style.

The hologram winked out and Jupiter smiled. Soon, Genesis will conquer the world, and then Jupiter would assign him the task of finding his ally, and killing him. Then, Genesis will die! Or before that even, in fact, hell kill him when he comes back! Yes that plan pleased him immensely. Thoughts and ideas sprang and danced through his head, until he hit on a plan that would most definitely get him what he wanted.

Chapter 5

Genesis walked the streets of the Isle of Man. It had changed greatly from its roots, and had become a capital city. Having only two entrances by sea and no over land routes, it was ideal for the United Kingdom to remove its government there. Its great navy practically filled the Irish Sea and protected it against all comers. The islands of Great Britain and Ireland flanked it and protected it. From the fierce Scottish who held on to their traditions in the north and the Irish who felt a fierce pride at being on the first lines of defense, the population of the United Kingdom bent its fierce stubbornness and pride into that islands protection.

Of course, Genesis made it in, as did his entire team, by playing a group of American tourists. He was nearly constantly surprised by the ease at which he was able to pass custom officials and security officers, he at least expected a second look, but, he passed it perfectly.

Then, he saw Royal Wellington outside the main government building, where he was to attack and destroy all the important people therein. Royal the one man who could hope to at least challenge him, right there, within striking distance! No Genesis circled him surreptitiously, to see the world he fought hard to protect wounded in his very presence!

Genesis had one twinge of regret, it would be psychologically tortuous, Genesis knew, but, still, Royal would fight harder afterward, unless his failure destroyed him. Genesis used his pin communicator, it was disguised as a Union Jack, and sounded like a cellular phone, three beeps, he must move in. Royal passed by him, talking to himself, obviously a speech of some sort, the crowd passed him by, only soldiers knew who he was, and they watched him like a hawk, but, they did not make this known, as per his orders.

Anyone without a weapon could enter the main gate. Genesis however, infiltrated the building through the roof, where he was able to cut through the glass and climb all the way down to the amphitheatre. This was the room where all the worlds leaders would gather. He had twenty minutes before speeches started, as well as another hour before they would file in and take their seats. Eighty minutes to ponder why it had been so easy, and why all the security cameras were turned off in this, the most important of rooms.

Eighty minutes past and Genesis had no answers. Obviously, the First was working with someone of exceedingly high rank, perhaps the director of security? Genesis thoughts continuously wondered but found no answer as the first delegate came in.

The amphitheater was a semi-circle, mimicking the Greek style and had one chair, the chair of Kaoru Nippon, Japans prime minister and that days master of ceremonies. The chair was tall and, if turned a certain way, a person could be hidden in the large wing-backed chair. Genesis sat rather immobile as he waited for the right opportunity. Mr. Nippon was the last one to enter, shutting the doors ceremoniously behind him.

As soon as he had finished he laughed a little, as did the other leaders. Several loosened ties or undid hair, in the case of the few females, and generally readied themselves for the locked-door conference. There were no press to worry about and everything could be said in bluntness and politics were unnecessary. For a moment, Genesis remembered that they were, in fact, human, and then he dashed any feelings of humanity; he would have no regrets in what he did next.

The Japanese leader was greatly surprised by the swiveling of his chair and its occupant, but he took it in great stride. Genesis had half expected then to run around screaming, or at least a startled gasp. But no, the Mr. Nippon brought out a gun from a pocket hidden inside his sleeve and pointed it at Genesis unprotected head.

We expected something like this! He said in nasally and forced English, We never expected someone young, though, which group do you work for?

The Jupiter Conclave! The Japanese man wavered and fired, which was the exact and best effect that Genesis could come up with. He was already dodging and the bullet grazed his cheek, leaving a little blood on the chair back. His nanite armor morphed out of the civilian outfit it had changed into and covered him in his armor, which no small caliber bullet such as Mr. Nippons could even scratch it.

I answered your question, now answer mine. My mask indicates that you are the world leaders, so I dont need confirmation. Why did you choose Royal Wellington, instead of the descendants of Arcad Demmic?

The Japanese man tried to jump back but Genesis hand shot out and grabbed his neck. He tried to struggle against the blue and gold armored assailant. Because they disappeared! Genesis nodded, then callously snapped his neck like the proverbial twig. He then took the rest of the room in a glance, already, several had attempted the fire doors, but Genesis knew that they were locked. There was no escape from him.

Royal Wellington was outside, talking to a guard who he knew from his days learning war. He heard the reports come into the guards headset and rushed with him to do whatever he could. The amphitheatres main doors led directly outside. They did not budge at all to the makeshift battering ram the guards had made from a statue of Queen Victoria. Royal stopped them, sending most for rocket launchers.

He pressed his ear to the door to try to figure out what was happening, but there was no hope of getting in, the screams and shouts were fading. The rocket launchers came too late as he finally ordered the assault on the door.

Genesis felt the doors take the multiple hits and decided now was the time to leave the building in the grand style the plan called for. He used his own weapon, the bulky canister rifle, to blow out the hinges. The doors fell forward, but the soldiers were well back. Genesis hefted his weapon across his shoulders and walked forward. His helmet designated each soldiers threat from medium to negligible, medium was assigned to all the rocket launcher holding soldiers and negligible to everything else.

The sun shone down onto his blue and gold-crossed armor, turning him into something like a god descending with vengeance to smite his erring people. Several soldiers ran like cowards. Royal did nothing but stare, there he was, THAT man, the person who had thwarted everything he did, and made him look like a coward and a weakling.

FIRE He called, firing his own weapon, an AK-94, finest non-explosive projectile weapon his army had to offer. His mortal enemy walked forward, undaunted by the miasma of projectiles which flowed around him and bounced off him like a waterfall. Then, he disappeared. Hold! Infrared goggles on! Royal pulled his down just in time to see Genesis three feet away in front of him, open palm flying toward him. Royal flew through the air in a spiral and crashed upside down into a concession stand of hot dogs, fortunately, he was unconscious by the time the boiling water seared much of his skin, and fire permanently disfigured his once handsome face and body.

Genesis looked around, the soldiers were all turning their weapons as fast as they could to fire on him, but by that time, he had disappeared again. The cloaking technology, one of the first inventions of Nichos Hilden, blended him in with the background completely, as well as gave him a boost of speed. He twisted the handle of his weapon, the canister rife, until it was nearly straight, compared with the rest of the weapon, allowing him to fire a little inaccurately, but a blade appeared, shooting out of a slot below the barrel of the gun. Genesis lastly removed the stock and it disappeared into his palm, he was ready.

The soldiers turned as he shouted. The few who were attempting to extricate Royals mangled body redoubled their efforts and ran off to a nearby car, which presumably bore him to the nearest hospital. Genesis disappeared once more, and reappeared next a large specimen of a sentry who was carrying two rocket launchers. Staring down at the blade seemingly appearing by magic in his chest, he fell over dead as the rest of the armed forces started to fire at Genesis, but, no effect could be seen on his spotless armor, as he slaughtered every man that had any threat to his well being.

The courtyard was littered with dead as Genesis reappeared at the entrance to the rest of the city. There were still about thirty left, but they had no weapon of consequence to Genesis.

Why dont you kill us too!? Shouted one, still firing his useless hand gun at Genesis.

The rest of you are beneath my notice. To emphasize his words, he made his armor absorb the weapon, it had the desired effect of making the survivors cry out in frustration. He cloaked himself and ran to the point on the island where he would hide until he could leave naturally.

The people looked high and low for the wrong person. Genesis went back the way he came a week later, and no suspected who he was. Everything had gone too perfectly.

Chapter 6

Athena and Genesis met as soon as possible to discuss the turn of events. The plan worked to absolute perfection, despite Royals attempted interference. The people who taught Genesis instilled in him a fear of things going too perfectly. The best laid plans never survive contact with the enemy. They had said.

In Jupiters house, the First, Jupiter met with the Sixth, Hermes, to discuss the future, there were three others, assassins.

Hermes stood, leaning against a wall, as Jupiter addressed the three. Well then, what makes you so sure you can kill for me? The leader of the three, Hood, a man of certain prestige, held up a list of fatalities they had caused previously. Jupiter read the list with an inscrutable face, then nodded and told them who they were to kill. The three disappeared to hunt their quarry, the Fifth, Genesis!

Genesis and Athena were still pouring over all the details they could muster about the operation. They had begun to realize that they had been helped by contacts inside the secret operations section of the human military, but still, who? A knock at the door interrupted them, but Alexia went to door before they could get up.

Hello? She said to the three men who were at Genesis door. What may the Fifth, Genesis do for you?

Were just here to see him, well talk to him in person.

Im afraid Ill have to see some identification. The man who was obviously the leader reached his hand into his jacket.

You dont want to see my identification. He brought his empty hand out, palm towards Alexia. She was puzzled for a second, but the tube that suddenly shot out an inch. This is my identification!

Shield! She shouted and the rocket exploded an inch from her face, blocked by a metal shield that shot out from her chest, but the momentum of the explosion sent her flying, crashing into the wall outside the door to the library. Genesis ran out, his armor already forming into its accustomed shape. Hood ran towards him with his two comrades and he kicked Genesis up, sending him straight through the ceiling. The other two attackers followed him up as he looked into the library to ensure that he was the only warrior in the area.

Well then, who are you, old woman? The First didnt say anything about you. He hauled Athena from her hiding place. He immediately recognized her threat as none and dropped her on her knees. There anyone else? He bent down and looked into her eyes as crashes and smashes emanated from the second floor.

Not since you killed Alexia! I dont know how much the First paid you, but it cant be enough to die. Athena said through ground teeth, she had no combat skill, being entirely cerebral in abilities.

He laughed and shook his head. Smart words, but I think Im paid more than enough to go to ****! He then moved on to join his companions, jumping through the ceiling. Athena ran over to Alexia, and heaved a great sigh of relief as she found a heart beat; her metal shield was bent and useless, but it had served its purpose.

Meanwhile, Genesis found himself continuously being kicked and punched, keeping him disoriented and unable to properly defend or attack. Unfortunately, their continuous beating would eventually cause him to lose consciousness, his one, intended weakness in case he ever did anything that did not conform to his purpose. Fortunately, this was his house, and he had prepared against both assassination attempts and in case he ever decided to revolt.

He fell through the wall of the room above his library, a dining room, and prepared his counter attack, but he was interrupted by Hood, who smashed through the floor and grabbed him by the neck and stomach, sending him flying vertically into ceiling of the room. His arms attempted to break Genesis in half. But Genesis had been hoping for something exactly like that. He relaxed quickly, Hood did not move his grip an inch. He then twisted opposite ways, this time Hood was forced to relinquish his grip, allowing Genesis enough leverage to twist the opposite way, effectively breaking Hoods hold. He kicked Hood down, through the floor, putting another hole next to the one he previously made. Hood fell with a large pile of wreckage past the library and into the basement.

He then grabbed the dining table, sending it flying towards the other two, who had been watching Hood, but they held their palms out and the table exploded. Genesis took a moment to taunt them.

If you werent going to fight me whole-heartedly, then you had no chance of winning.

The taller of the two smiled and charged. You have not seen all what our nanites can do! He let loose a punch that shattered the wall behind Genesis. Now that he had his feet on the ground, he had the ability to fight back. The shorter one was allowed to land a punch to thoroughly gauge his opponents capabilities. He was pleasantly surprised by their status compared to his. They had no chance.

By the time Hood found his feet and made a third hole in the floor, Genesis had defeated both his comrades and was waiting for him. You should have picked some stronger associates. He said, charging Hood. Hood caught his arm an inch from his stomach and twisted the armored Genesis upside down and tossed him through the nearby window. However, Genesis grabbed what remained of that wall and tossed himself in. He kicked out and caught Hood by the back of his neck, drawing him in, he tossed him through the window. The other two had gotten up and one caught Hood as the other moved into assault Genesis. But he merely caught his punch and tossed him to his compatriots.

He held out his hand and his weapon, the canister rifle, and extended the blade. I was trained to be the ultimate warrior for the nanite humans. You cannot defeat me, as I have defeated my last true rival, no one can hope to surpass me! He disappeared and the three tried to run in separate directions. But the two fell, cut through the chest, not enough to kill, but certainly more than enough to incapacitate them. Hood waited until Genesis reappeared before attacking him.

Genesis had been waiting for this. He cloaked again and reappeared, his rifle, minus the blade at the end, against Hoods head. I wont beg for mercy.

I wouldnt give it. He fired his rifle, ending the career of Hood.

Chapter 7

Hades, Artemis, Athena and Tethys met Genesis at his calling, the First, Jupiter, had gone too far when he had sent Hoods group after him. We cant let him run rampant, we have to stop him. Genesis began, but then he realized they already knew that.

Tethys was burning up with rage, she had been in the navy for the majority of her life protecting the southern world with those infested with nanites can live. She had devoted everything, relationships, promotions, everything she could that she thought could benefit the Conclave, at all points in her life.

I cant believe that scum Ill tear him apart. [bleep]e shot out of her shoulders, before retreating as she caught control of herself. Athena, patted her head sympathetically. She had joined the same time as Genesis. This was unacceptable, not because of everything she had devoted, but still, it angered her that she was just a pawn.

I have an idea where hes going. He needs a winning edge now that hes tried to kill Genesis, hell go to Site A, the first research and development laboratory developed by our side. It houses numerous objects and beings of power. Hermes!? She cried, pointing to the sky.

Hermes came streaking in, transforming into his human form and landing among them. My my! What a sorry group we have here! He said, arms akimbo, he looked at each one. Odd, why arent you giving me welcome or something? I know what ol Jupe is planning, to revive the ancient mount of his predecessor. You know what I mean?

Athena searched her memory banks and uncovered what he said. But it was destroyed. My sources indicate its complete and utter dismantlement. She looked at him curiously, he could be setting up a trap.

Well, thats what the old rag said, but do you think they really destroyed something as wondrous as the Jupiter Worm? Man alive! It would be idiocy if something like that was just abandoned! You really should look into why they did things, not what they did. He continued to sneer at her, then turned his back to them. Its at Site A, care to follow me? He transformed into a sleek jet fighter, flying off toward Site A.

Everyone knew that he most likely would betray them, but, he was probably leading them to Jupiter. It was deemed best to follow him. Genesis ordered Alexia to gather all the capable fighters she knew, and their friends, to gather them near to Site A as soon as possible. He knew she did more than dust when he was gone, he added, joining the four already gathered. Hades, however, said in his unique, choppy speech that he had something to do, and would join them later.

They followed Hermes all the way to Site A, the ancient stronghold of scientists who had created great weapons of war for the Conclave in previous years. It was a great ruin, bleak, black and it had one figure on the top of it. Jupiter. Hermes turned back into a man and stood beside him, as the four members of the Conclave arrived at the bottom.

I hope you have enjoyed your brief stint in power. I do regret destroying all of you, but you have given me no choice. I am afraid you have not come in time, my ancient mount, the Jupiter Worm, has been gathered, it lives, and will soon come to destroy you all. But first, Hermes, you have my permission to rip Artemis apart!

Hermes laughed a little, then jumped down, turning into a machine again, he flew straight into Artemis, who was in the midst of transforming into a nanite-fighter. He flew her straight into a wall of granite, cracking it.

Youre lucky I wasnt ready, punk! Cause I am now! She blasted from her position inside the rock and flew straight at Hermes, launching two missiles straight at him before turning sharply, her momentum carried her straight at his face, burning him with her jets.

Thats enough diversion. The svelte voice of Jupiter ripped the three remaining members from their stupor. We need to fight too! He jumped down, raw energy gathering around him and tearing holes in the wake of his passage.

-Hiatus-

The secretary of Royal Wellington walked into the hospital room to see the ruined form of the leader of the army of the humans. He had been in surgery and unconsciousness for an entire week, he only woke up five minutes ago, He was bandaged up, nearly every surface had a white covering of a bandage or a band-aid. How many? Came a croak from where once a rich and cultured voice with an English accent had once graced.

Everyone.

Royal motioned and his secretary moved in to hear him better. She then saw that he was crying. He was able to slip his right arm, which was one of the only places not covered in wrapping, up to his face and he covered his weeping eyes. This is so shameful! He began to cry even more loudly; his secretary closed the door, allowing him a little privacy. But by the time she turned around he was no longer crying, but he was obviously on some new thought.

Give me your laptop and headset. He said through clenched teeth. The secretary did as she was asked, though, with reservations. He began to type furiously, then, he plugged in the headset and started to speak a long stream of numbers, finally. Ion Cannon, I am in control.

In space, there are more things than satellites in its depths. The ion cannon was the left over of the second Nanite war, and had been thought to have been taken down. It was still up there, Royal had secretly had it renovated and the ion cannon could be fired again. It was inhabited by one of Royals most trusted friends, who, in the absence of gravity, proper sunlight, human conversation and fresh foods, gone insane, but, then again, it had been hard to call him sane before that.

Red button! Red button! Red button! Said the insane spacer as he floated, upside down. Oh! How I want to push you! He then made a sudden move and pressed the space right next to the red firing button. Almost! He laughed a little then floated aimlessly.

The screen near his head rang and Royals words: Ion Cannon, I am in control. floated melodiously though the spacers warped brain then back out again.

MONKEYS! What? I didnt say anything.

Hello, and how are you today?

Only suffering in a hellhole with three-feet of electronics as my only protection. And the red button, can I push it now?

Almost, Im going to send you some coordinates. Its what intelligence has told me as objects of interest. Do in the order you care to do.

ALRIGHT! He looked over at the red button. Its time had come! So can I push it now?

Almost. Alright, go ahead. The insane man twisted in circles, eventually righting himself according to the gravity of the earth. He then calmly floated himself over to the console, with the red button prominently displayed. He twisted a dial, bringing up aerial pictures of what he could destroy in that area of space, stopping randomly at a gigantic house in the shape of a J, he let his hand fall.

I have to do this awesomely! Hgghhrrr! With a bestial cry he slammed his forehead down on the read button, incinerating the target with extreme prejudice. That was freaking awesome! He ignored the blood that was flowing down his skull, as well as the cracked cranium that had now a spider web of cracks. The pain felt good to him, like sensuous pleasure. What can I destroy next!?!

COOL-DOWN, 20 SECONDS AND COUNTING. Came a metallic voice without soul. The insane caretaker merely nodded, he would push that delicious button again soon.

Chapter 8

Jupiter finally arrived on the ground, barely contained energy crackled and fizzed as he looked at the trio. Genesis moved in front of Athena, blocking a energy ball from Jupiters palm, his nanites died and resurged as the raw electricity overloaded their power and killed them, but it had not destroyed them all and they came back, a little stronger than before.

You had better retreat! Get Alexia and whatever forces she has gathered! He yelled back. Athena left the scene of battle, leaving only Tethys and Genesis to face their once leader.

No matter, shell die anyway. Just a matter of time.

Tethys charged him, wielding a gigantic naginata, a short sword on a spear pole from Japan, made especially for her. She jumped and brought the blade smashing right onto his position, but he jumped, and it missed him. He, however, didnt miss her, and sent her flying back with a more controlled energy ball.

I want to be a celestial being! Is that so bad after all? To be superior?

He caught one of Genesis canisters and crushed it, causing it to explode in his palm, it had no affect.

We are superior in every way to humans! Why cant we rule them? It would be whats best for them!

Tethys naginata appeared before him and started slashing wildly, he dodged every attack. Finally, he caught the blunt edge and ripped it from her grasp, he vaporized it in a burst of energy.

We have to accept our own greatness! We are whats best! We, the Celestial Beings!

Genesis ran up to him with his weapon drawn with blade extended. He fought like a fencer, attempting to make use of any opening or gap that Jupiter may have had. Jupiter had none he was aware of. Jupiter formed his own weapon, a plain and unadorned sword. He beat Genesis back, almost to his knees, but Genesis kicked him, sending a ripple through his nanites, sending him flying into what could have been a shed for the lawn equipment sometime in the past.

Please, I was your leader! You think MY kind of Celestial Being would fall to those inferior to him? Its just not done! Feel my wrath! The wrath of Jupiter! King of Celestial Beings! He yelled to the sky as a sphere of energy expanded with great speed around him, eventually engulfing Tethys, Genesis, Artemis and Hermes. Artemis and Hermes disintegrated as their nanites, which had become their very beings, fell to dust and floated to the wind.

Youre still alive. Take your best shot!

Tethys had survived the ordeal, but barely, parts of her were still growing back, Genesis was twitching, he still lived, but barely. Fine, you wont like it though! Various parts of her newly re-grown armor spun and morphed, eventually, she began to grow as her nanites copied themselves endlessly, growing and changing until a monster appeared. It was three stories tall, a gigantic moving fortress with gigantic piston legs, guns and cannons spouted everywhere, but focused only on Jupiter. Who smiled.

That would have impressed a human with projectile weapons with no real power, but me, Ive got something more impressive. He whistled and the Jupiter Worm appeared under him, facing the transformed Tethys. It was terribly long and round, it could be compared to the Asian Lung dragon, lithe and strong.

Tethys used one of her more delicate appendages to grab Genesis and toss him out of the way of her explosive attacks, which had no effect. She was then brutally beaten by the stronger opponent as the sky began to light up.

-Hiatus-

The lone inhabitant looked at his final target in that hemisphere. Royal had left him alone again, but he didnt really care, there was the red button, and nearly twenty more times to push it.

AHH! My deary! We are having such fun! One more time, then we leave for a better place! He pressed, and nothing happened, he pressed again and again, nothing. Charging symbols appeared, but they soon disappeared after a minute. Alright! Grum doodles! What now!? Wait one minute after charging!? Computer!?!

WAIT ONE MINUTE AFTER CHARGING. The soulless voice intoned, forcing the Ion Cannons inhabitant to indeed, wait. He amused himself by eating something floating nearby, it was a disc of some sort, but he didnt realize that until he realized that it tasted too plastically. He spat it out and waited, it didnt feel good to wait and the button pressing was too short. Out of the blue, he pointed at what looked like a worm appearing in the gigantic ruin and yelled. Imma chargin my lazer, punk!

YOU MAY FIRE WHEN READY!

Yeah! Im ready now! He spun once and brought his heel down onto the button. The Ion Cannon fired its weapon and began to shift a little to accommodate the next line of firing. Oh baby! That feels super special awesome!

Chapter 9

Royal Wellington lay in his bed and quietly celebrated his victory. It was glorious for him to see Jupiter, the First, and one of the most dangerous weapons of the Second Nanite War destroyed before his eyes. The laptop had been able to connect to the ion cannon and the spy satellites, he saw everything.

Genesis! I have beaten you! He laughed a little to himself, and nearly shut it off when he saw a prone body of a human, just outside the ion cannons ray. He focused the vision until he could see the face. The face of his fathers best friend, but he was dead, his son! No He murmured blue and gold began to shroud the body, until there was no doubt in his mind who he had fought against all these years. The grandson of one of the greatest military minds, whose name is set among Napoleons and Alexanders!

He sat there and watched as the figure twitched, got up, and walked away, toward the hills, and finally collapsed on the crest. He was not dead, but he was close, and a group of nanite-enhanced humans ran to him, helping him up.

Royals mind had blown something, he knew that much, and it was interesting to watch himself fall to the brink of insanity, when he saw the light. Genesis was human! He was human! Royal fell onto his pillows with a sigh of relief and a grimace of pain. He was not a perfect being. He looked and saw one more person join them. This time too, he looked again, but, he expected that someone like that would show up. Who he was exactly, he did not know, but, he wished he could have heard what was said.

Well then, hes finally dead. Hades said, walking casually up the hill to the now quieted party. Thank you very much. But I am afraid I have an agenda of my own.

Athena and Alexia were leading the medical team to bind Genesis many wounds, after taking his armor off. Athena turned quickly toward him. It was a surprise, of course, but she knew that each member of the now-defunct Jupiter Conclave, had their own agenda. And what would that be?

Why, the entire worlds conversion to nanomachines, nanites, as most people call them. I have cast off every pretense. I shall let you know who I am as the world is finally what my grand father dreamed it would be. A world without sickness! A world where injury is only temporary! The lame will walk! The blind will see! The world shall have a golden age, as we steadily move to perfection! He opened his arms wide. Behold! The fruits of my labors! It snows-

He was cut off by chattering and mild screaming of the people around them. Golden snow was coming down from the heavens. It was everywhere. Some fell on Genesis, cuts and bruises slowly began to heal and his heart began to beat evenly and strongly.

Royal was looking at the man, trying to read his lips. The golden snowfall began outside. His secretary had begun to look at it. Her nerves were in a bad state, Royal laughed like a madman, all this business and mumblings she nearly called the orderlies but stopped when it appeared Royal calmed down a little. Hey, look outside. Sir! Its beautiful. The snow! Royal broke out of his stupor and looked outside. It was quite pretty, but something was wrong.

The snow began to fall through the ceiling. Royal touched one and knew immediately, the pain disappeared. He began to shudder, but, it wasnt tears, it was laughter!

Ha! Take the laptop! Im walking! He twisted his body over the bed after his secretary relieved him of the computer. His legs touched the floor and he winced, but the pain left quickly, He stood. He looked like a mummy, wrapped in bandages, but he took them off, one layer at a time, IV devices were pulled off and he looked at his left hand, the most mangled area of his body. It was completely healed, he clenched it.

Sir! Please! Sit back down! I dont understand it, but I think-

The snow! Its nanites! The secretary sat down abruptly, she still didnt understand, neither did anyone else. Shouts and yells were heard as nurses tried to discover the origin of this snowfall and tried to keep patients in their beds.

Genesis stood up, Alexia offered her arm and shoulder, but he shook his head. His head was bowed, he felt defeated. The world had been conquered by his side, and now, he felt that he had noting to do. I dont think my world needs me anymore. He limped off, and was not seen in the world stage again.

Epilogue

The voice of Jonn P. Phedy started. Genesis disappearance was, in some ways, the harbinger of the new world order; the world had finally been converted to Nanites. It was, in the end, inevitable. They tried, like their ancestors, to cure it, but we still bear the marks. Sickness as we used to know it is gone, there is no more death except old age. People live to be a hundred years, murder no longer exists. People are better than they had ever been.

The old teacher turned off the screen as the credits began to roll. The students voiced their displeasure at him, but he hardened his heart.

There you have it! You now understand? No, you dont! Otherwise they wouldnt wait this long to teach you about how we changed. You know how but why? Can you really say what the convictions of Nichos Hilden really were? I will be providing a much more boring video next week. You may go early until then. Oh wait, heh heh, its Friday. Well received groans from the class brought a smile to his face. Now get out of here! Well meet Monday! A documentary on Nichos Hilden will be waiting! Do not skip this, big test material will come from this one! He watched as they packed up their stuff and walked out, talking animatedly among themselves.

He wished they did understand what he understood. But really, they didnt. History figureheads people like Royal Wellington and Genesis, but, it was

OMFG I HATE THAT STORY!!! I mean the description and stuff was alright, but WHY!?! WHY DID THE NANITES HAVE TO WIN!?!? WHY!?!

Bloody stupid nanites... Gawd... Maybe a human appears or something possibly and he kills the nanites?

*looks at Merker is great wonder*

But the nanites improved humanity! they erased 1. disease 2. made it much harder to commit murder 3. numerous improvements to physiology 4. everyone can do more! 5. death is set at 100 years... that's without aging past a certain point you want to be (the teacher chose 'old' despite the ability to stay relatively young)

well, thinking about it... I guess the insane spacer is still human... but he's stuck up in an all-powerful ion cannon, and is quite insane... I don't think I'd like him to be nanite infested.

oh well, I thought it would be great irony.
