June 19, 200818 yr On the price graph for the GE database there are three lines: daily average, 5 day average and 20 day average. However they show on the same page, with the same scale. If the x axis ranges from 13th - 19th of June, why are the averages different? Unless the averages are re-calculated after the day, which is stupid. I'm sure there is something blatantly obvious that I'm missing, would anybody care to enlighten me? Also, http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem ... 53&scale=0 So on the 16th of June, was the price approx 748 or 790?
June 19, 200818 yr That 5-day and 20-day averange is just a smothening of the price chart, calculated by 5/30 days, so if the price goes up very very high, those 5;20-day lines will go up, but just a little bit. Don't worry about it, it's just a way of jagex to confuse you without any reason at all... you know how every significant jagex update has a f'd up part? well this is the f'd up part of the GE update. The yellow line is the one you need to look at (daily averange). And on 16 June, the normal price was ~783 Goal: getting all skills to 99
June 19, 200818 yr Yeah, it's basically used to track how fast the price is changing (by looking at the slope of the line). You can use this to better just the stability of a price over a length of time. If a new update happened, than there's a new demand for an item, the daily average will shoot up first, but the 5 day and 20 day average will remain low, until the daily average repeatedly goes up. Hope that makes sense. Dr Locust <-- Click for my blog...+2000 Total, PhD in Questing, Woodcutting, Agility, Thieving, and Firemaking
