Firefox Help please :)

Well I closed it down after not being able to scroll in hopes of re-starting...

When I tried to open, it prompted me because another user was using firefox at the time. Im the only person logged on my computer, and firefox is not a running application. So I decide to try and get in on a new user, and it seems to work, as thats what Im doing now. But...how do I get back to the other user? Seems like the button to get there is hidden in the cracks of FireFox.

Thanks in advance.

Run firefox with the -profilemanager options. In windows, it would be start > run > firefox[Caution: ExecutableFile] -profilemanger (you might need to add the full path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox[Caution: ExecutableFile] -profilemanger)

BTW, something I find useful is using firefox -p "profile name" to start firefox with that profile - very useful for running release and Deer Park together...

replace the 3's with x's, obviously.

I recently had the exact same problem so I'm curious on how to get back to my old user to...I lost all my bookmarks on this user :?

In windows xp: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. Click on the folder called "xxxxxxxx.default"

(xxxxxxxx is some random letters / numbers). Copy the file "bookmarks.html". Paste it in the other folder in the profiles directory.

I just deleted everything in the newly made folder and pasted everything from my old folder :) Works fine now, though all my saved passwords=gone...

I wouldn't know why that would have happened... I don't use saved passwords. Though I think that key3.db contains the passwords, then there's another one for the master password. Are you sure you copied everything?

BTW, if it ever asks you to create another profile: Close the profile manager, then press control + alt + delete, and click processes > select firefox[Caution: ExecutableFile] and then end it's unfortunate life...

Oh yeah, then you can start it again - of course.
