just got 68 iron drags for slayer and im wondering if i should range them or melee them. my stats are in sig and i have 12m (but i would prefer not to spend much). and if i range what bolts should i use?

i usually mage/range cause then i can finish the task in one trip. unless ur combat is very high u probably need to make more than 1 trip. as to the bolts i usually stick with mith.

ok then how many anti-fire pots and range pots should i take?

12-16 should be enough

I find meleeing to be much more effective than ranging, especially whilst doing a slayer assignment.

 

 

 

For meleeing, wear prayer boosting armour such as proselyte, whip+anti-fire shield, and black mask. Use prayer potions, anti-fire pots, and pure sets, use dds specs. You should also bring your best BoB in order to be certain you can finish in one trip.

 

 

 

For ranging, I recommend at least mithril + bolts, and you should be using a crossbow+anti-fire shield, and anti-fire pots. You should also use emerald (e) bolts to poison the dragon.

 

 

 

You can usually at least break even with meleeing, without a drop.

Melee with black mask works well. Wear prayer gear, proselyte is best.

 

 

 

I prefer mage over range on dragons.
