What's the difference between Shortbow and Longbow?

 

I know a shortbow is said to have faster attacks than a longbow, but why is a longbow more expensive? Does it hit harder than a shortbow? Or is it simply a long range of attack?

you must mean the hi alch price is more expensive, jagex made it that way because longbow needs more lvs before you can fletch it

besides the longer range it has no advantage over shortbow, thats why nearly every1 uses short bow for training

Short bow is faster and hits less while the longbow is slower but hits more. Thats it.

the long bow does have a higher max hit but only by 1 but since its much slower its more beneficial to hit with a shortbow

 

longbows were only used in rsc when all weapons hit at the same speed :thumbsup:

 

since a shortbow is 1.5x faster than a long bow look at how it equals out if the max of the shortbow is 8 and the max of the long bow is 9

 

to even out youd need to hit double 9s witha long bow but only hit 3 6s with the shortbow so if instead you hit a 6 a 7 and an 8 you get more xp in the same time

Longbow accurate and shortbow accurate have the same max hit (same applies for rapid).

 

 

 

The ONLY differences between long and short bows of the same wood are the range of the weapon (how far it shoots, not the max hit or attack bonuses) and the alchemy values, and the special for magic bows.

 

 

 

Your max hit depends on the ammo you use, not the weapon :

long and shorts have the same range bonus so the long has only a higher range....

longbow is slower but is more accurate

 

while the shortbow is faster and is a wee bit less accurate thats why most people train with shortbow
