  1. Thanks for this :) I was actually planning on using ToG on my summoning. Using all my penguins/lamps on it seems like a decent idea too
  2. Thankyou! Ill take a good look :) I remember looking in the AOW...obviously i didnt look hard enough :P
  3. Hello! I have been neglecting training summoning for a VERY long time, and its at a pitiful level 4 at the moment. I really want to get it much higher, but i have a few questions as to how i should collect charms. I currently have about 1400 crimsons, 300 blues and 900 gold charms banked, but i want to get 89 summon (dont ask my why 89 and not just 88, i just think the geyser titan is really cool). As my current level is 4, i realise i have an awful lot of charms to collect. What im unsure of is... How many charms (specificly crimsons) would i need? How much would it cost to obtain these charms using ice burst at rock lobsters? What other potential methods are there for collecting these charms? (i dont really want to do slayer, i keep getting assigned annoying tasks :( ) Im sorry if i should be able to work all this out myself. I have tried, and failed due to lack of summoning experience (what pouches to make at what level, etc). Thankyou very much in advance.
  4. Pretty sure spectral would be better than a DFS, since the spectral has less negative ranged attack and more magic defence. I use the exact same set up as you mentioned, only i use a DFS; however i would use a spectral if i could afford it. I would expect rangers to be better than infinity boots also, purely because +8 ranged attack *probably* has more of an impact than +5 magic defence. Someone correct me if im wrong :)
  5. Blue dragons in the ogre enclave cave are awesome if you have completed Watchtower Quest. Run from castlewars to the dragons, fill up your inventory with hides and bones and teleport back to castlewars with a dueling ring, and repeat. Each inventory takes 14 kills and is worth something like 70k each. Black dragons in the evil chicken lair (requires some way through RFD) are also good and you have a (slim) chance at a visage. A full inventory there is worth somewhere in the range of 90k, and banking is very quick. If you're feeling lucky, you could also try iron/steel dragons and hope for a dragon item drop. The above are much better consistant cash however.
  6. Void is not better than armadyl at high defence monsters at all. I have both and i take armadyl every time against black dragons, steel dragons and the like, because through a lot of kills worth of comparing on black dragons i find i kill faster more consistantly with armadyl. The extra hitting power of void versus the accuracy loss on high defence monsters doesnt tend to be worth it unless you're using something like diamond(e) bolts to compensate for the accuracy drop. That said, void is awesome for low to medium defence monsters, and also for high defence monsters if you're willing to pay for diamond bolts. I would definitely recommend getting it
  7. 80% Of the level 3 clues i do, i end up loosing more on the "wear a rune platebody and..." kinda things. I much prefer level 2 clues to level 3; theyre much shorter, you dont have to wander around the wilderness and theres no pesky saradomin/zamorak wizards to deal with. Sure, you cant get any 3rd age with level 2 clues, but im guessing the chances of getting it from a level 3 are so astronomically low anyway it doesnt make much difference. Thats my pesimistic view on level 3 clues, because i have never EVER had a decent one :wall:
  8. If someone could give me a rough value that would be great : Thanks in advance
  9. An alternative monster could be ankou. Most of their drops stack (deaths, bloods, addy arrows), b2p enables you to stay there pretty much infinitely after 70 or so defence and with a salve (e) the 20% boost to attack and strength speeds up training quite a bit :
  10. Some useful quests might be: -RFD done, for those lovely gloves, although this is quite alot of effort -Horror from the deep, for a prayerbook -Lunar diplomacy and dream mentor, for the lunar spellbook. Vengeance in particular might be good : -Desert treasure, IF you can find an outfit which enables you to use the spells without splashing too much and not ruining the whole tank thing. -Watchtower quest could be good, the blue dragons down there are decent ranged cash and exp combined. -Animal magnetism, if you dont already have it done -Haunted mine and tarns lair, for salve (e), see below Those are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head, and there are obviously pre-quests that go with some of those. As for training defence, its much much quicker with a whip. If you can get 70 attack, grab a whip and go kill ankou with the salve (e). You can use b2p to heal, and the 20% boost to attack and strength speeds things up. Plus, you will make a slight profit from runes and the like. Best of luck :
  11. I you didnt already find it, 42. edit: sorry, useless post. Someone posted it above me :-# sorry :wall:
  12. Also, the time spent in safe zones and hot spots allegedly contributes towards what drops you will recieve. Staying in a safe zone all the time will reduce the frequency of good drops, while being in hot zones for a long time will increase the chances of good drops.
  13. Thanks for the replies all, im currently using a salve (e) at ankou and im finding it ok. It might not even be as fast as it seems, but im looking forward to using the runes up after
  14. I dont have anywhere near your attack and strength, so the exp is much less for me. I might try slayer again sometime, but for the moment im after speed.
  15. I honestly dont know, but seeing as theyre "giant" skeletons you may well be correct. Would a regen brace suffice for healing there? Or are there better methods (that dont involve guthans/summoning :wall: )?
  16. take the runes for bones to peaches. didnt think of that, thanks :
  17. Ill have to try both those, and decide which i prefer : What should i do about healing at DT Skellies though? Good luck on 99 defence too  And about slayer, i did that from 60-70, and it wasnt really my thing. I havent done smoking kills, but frequent travelling to different tasks, and rubbish tasks get on my nerves :wall:
  18. How does this work with the ranged ammunition? Do you get as many "re-uses" until its been used for the said amount of time? Sorry if this is slightly off topic.
  19. A very slow (and rather tedius) way is to make teletabs. You get the same amount of exp as you would teleporting for making the apropriate teletab. Just buy the soft clay and runes (use a staff if you can), and you make quite a nice profit for each tab made. Its far from fantastic exp, but the profit can stack up and be used to fund faster methods. I did this (only for a while though, it gets annoying) and it worked alright
  20. I didnt really think about that :wall: i should maybe start doing that myself :ohnoes: OT: With your defence, i THINK you would be ok with food (providing you have decent armour), although it might possibly be cheaper to use proselyte and a few prayer potions. Wait for a second opinion though
  21. I would range them personally. High range attack boosting gear, antifire shield, rune crossbow and a couple of antifire potions mean you can happily range them out of their mellee range and take no damage. As far as bolts go, emerald (e) should do the trick.
  22. I find an obby shield better when at dagannoths, the defence seems to help me alot more than the hitting power of the defender. I use range at castlewars quite a bit also, and i have to say i prefer to go against defenders than obby shields when i do (but this might just be me :wall: )
  23. Thanks for the fast reply : open to more suggestions
