Diminishing Black Marks

I have been playing Runescape for five years now.

I began when I was 15, and I am now 20.

Over such a time I have matured greatly.

I no longer swear as I did before and I have gained more patience.

However, I retain 7.6 black marks from many years ago.

JaGeX, please make it so that over time, black marks can be earned off with good behaviour. I uphold the rules of the game strictly and I am not the person I once was.

Obviously there needs to be some balance. Players shouldn't have the mentality that black marks can be earned off, otherwise they could treat it like a currency... but My account is 5 years old. I have not earned any black marks since the new ban/appeal system was released and I honestly can't remember when I was last suspended.

Considering I am a completely different person form who I was four or five years ago, wouldn't it be fitting for me to have a clean slate?

This goes for other members who have been on their accounts since Runescape Classic and in such a time have matured into outstanding members. I have been no less than outstanding as a member - even helping new members by giving them starter kits and taking them places... and yet because of a mistake I made (I gave my clan's website in-game) I am ineligible to become a player moderator and I am seen as a disturber of the peace by JaGeX.

Please consider giving us, the seasoned veterans of your game, the chance to redeem ourselves. Most of us have grown up.

I suggest, specifically, letting black marks wear off after a few years, perhaps two or three years... like demerit points on driving licenses. Points are cleared every few years. It is balanced well enough to stop people from thinking "I have a few black marks to spend. They will clear off" and at the same time acknowledge that people can change for the better.

See some of us in-game. You'll see immediately that most of us are now outstanding members.

Why does the person care? The black marks that he/she has won't affect him/her at all, and if he/she's really a good person, he won't need any extra. I see no valid point. :-s

I think they think that you can't become a pmod while having black marks, but I've heard of pmods with black marks before, so, again, no need for them to go away. He might also think that Jagex just doesn't trust people with blackmarks, but they're people too, so I'm sure they'll see that he hasn't gotten in trouble for 5 years and treat him as any other honest player.
