Can anyone tell me the best way to get to 57 Herblore?

Featured Replies

I'm at 49, and I really wanna finish FT pt. II. Money isn't a problem, and I can grow every herb I can use (and two that I can't).

Hehe, this is like Jagex telling half of Runescape players that they're [developmentally delayed]. Sort of. That's how I interpreted it. :P

Runescape is why I support abortion.

Just make the best potion you can and farming your herbs is HIGHLY reccomended. Cost me around 1m from 53-57 buying the herbs

So, basically, just continue doing what I was doing?

I don't know, seeing as you never told us what you were doing...

#-o I was fairly sure that saying that implied that I was already doing what Blacksurge told me to do before I asked.

If money isn't a problem, you should buy unfinished potions and second ingredients to make the best potion you can. That will get you there as fast as possible, although it will cost a pretty penny for every experience point you get. You could make it there within the span of a few hours easily.

You should continue farming herbs, but don't farm the ones you use in potions; farm the ones that are most profitable, sell them, and use the profits to buy the ingredients you need. The most profitable ones are Snapdragon, Ranarr, and Kwuarm, in that order, last I checked anyway. Similarly, use Miscellania, but don't gather herbs with it, gather fish/flax/coal and sell them to buy ingredients.

Alright, thanks. By the way, I recently found out that spirit weed is the most profitable herb to grow. Last I checked, buying a seed, growing 4 herbs and sellng them gets you about 51 times as much money as you paid.

Nah, I can usually average 30-35 herbs a run. So if you use 5 seeds and 5 supercompost (about 3700 gp) you can get back about 60k. Whereas with snapdragons, if you spend ~160k on seeds and supercompost every run, you can get back ~240k worth of herbs. There's 80k profit there, certainly more than spirit weed.

Apparently snapdragons have gone down a lot since I last checked this math, though, and it appears kwuarms and ranarrs have both surpassed it in profitability. (Snaps used to be 9k each. So sad.)

On a side note, the greatest profitability rating as a percentage actually comes from marrentills, because the seed is only 3 gp, and the grimy herb is 180 gp.

Yes, but the only problem with that is that I've done almost all of the quests that have a herblore exp reward, or give lamps and such.
