June 6, 200521 yr I want to get Xbox live. I need some info first. What type of internet connection does it use? Like does it use cable satelite or what? If it take's satelite or cable ect... Do you have to subscribe for that type of tv services? Last but not least, How much does it cost... Thank you to anyone who helps me figure this out!
June 6, 200521 yr I don't know much about x-box live, but I do know around here you can get cable internet without paying for cable tv. They won't always offer you service though, especially if you live way out in the country and it'd cost them more money to give you the service than say someone who already lives in town.
June 6, 200521 yr Author where i used to live we had to buy cable tv to get cable internet... Also now i live out in the wood's and cable is not available to us. We use satelite TV and DSL...

June 9, 200521 yr need: cable to computer network connection (need a hub if network connection already taken) broadband internet xbox xbox live subscription set (comes with free 12 months and head phone thingy) costs? no idea, it changes from different curriences (duh) and it changes through time. e.g it might be $90 a year then next year it could be $100
June 9, 200521 yr well with xbox360 xbox live will cost....$0.00 Thats only for the "silver" or whatever status. Paying nothing will only get you to use chat and online shopping features. In order to play a game against others, you'll need a subscription. On topic: You don't pay by month, it's $60 or $65 dollar per year fee, it just takes it out of your credit card every year (not sure if you can pay by anything other than credit/debit). You connect it through the same internet as your computer, which pretty much has to have a minimum of DSL speed, and you just hook your xbox to your modem or router with an ethernet cable. You'll probably find the information you want at xbox.com though, don't know why you didn't ask there. Gamertag: King Arizona

U BUY A CARD IN A STORE AND WHEN SET UP A XBOX LIVE ACCOUNT PUNCH IN THE NUMBER ON THE CARD AND YOU ALSO HAVE TO PUT A CREDIT CARD NUMBER FOR SECURITY REASONS. THEY DONT TAKE MONEY OFF YOUR CREDIT CARD. IN OTHER WORDS YOU SAID YOU CANT PAY ANY OTHER WAY BESIDES CREDIT CARD YOU'RE WRONG. YOU BUY THE CARD IN THE STORE THERFORE YOU CAN USE CASH, CHECK, CREDIT, GIFT CARD/CERTIFICATE ETC.
