Ipod wont play a certain song

Featured Replies

ok recently got an ipod nano 3g, works great and all is going well.

only found one problem, it wont play a certain song (i only relised by accident otherwise i problem wouldn't have ever found out lol). when i try to play it it skips to the next song.

-Its plays in itunes fine

-I have tryed converting to AAC in itunes and re-syncing but didnt work still

-ipods firmware is up-to-date

-had same problem with another song but was fixed by resetting ipod (toggle hold button, hold down menu and center button for 6 seconds). this one however doesn't play no matter how many times i reset

here is the file details (from itunes):

Kind: AAC audio file

Size: 3.5mb

BitRate: 128kbps

Sample Rate: 44.100 khz

Profile: low complexity (whats this if anyone knows???)

Channels: Stereo (2)

Encoded With: Itunes 7.7.0.43, Quicktime 7.5

ipod is a nano 3rd gen 4gb apple certified refurb

Whats the song name and where did you get it?

This is relevant to the topic, im not just being nosy :)

When I have had that happen usually its because the music file is corrupted. The Ipod will try to play it, but if there is errors in the file it will skip it. Instead of resyncing, try using the recovery option on Itunes where all of the songs and software is deleted off the Ipod and reload all of your music.

It could be down to a copyright which has been placed on the file, or it may be corrupted like snipersas said.

But without knowing where you got the file we cant help much.
