I'd say range them. Runs will last longer and you won't have to use up prayer pots.

Well do the "common" drops make up for prayer cost?and for ranging what bolts should i use?

yea they do sometimes. and for bolts, emerald e ones work alright. bu using diamond e will go quicker with the killing.

Just melee them and bring along a terrorbird (if you can). Range and mage take way to long to kill them for my liking. :o

Depending on your luck and how many you can kill, yes. Rune limbs and other items generally cover the cost.
