Bunyips

Featured Replies

After finally achieving 68 Summoning, I'm excited to use Bunyips for Slayer. :D However... I'm not sure I'm using them quite right. Are they supposed to be able to keep you almost fully healed for the majority of the time? Or are you supposed to bring some food to supplement yourself with, as they heal you? I'm trying them out for the first time at Nechryaels, and even with the Rapid Heal prayer on, I can't keep myself healed enough to feel safe. I only took one monkfish along, and I eventually ate that, and I'm back down to low health again. Should I be bringing more monkfish to a task to eat as I need to, along with my Bunyip? Or do I just need better defence and armour or something like that?

Yes.

The bunyip is supplementary healing- 2hp per 15 seconds will not be enough to keep you topped off most places (though at 99 defense there are quite a few places where it will). Until you know how effective a bunyip will be somewhere, you should always take Guthan's or plenty of extra food with you. An SGS is also really handy.

Clearly you need either better stats or equipment.

When I first brought my Bunyip to Nechareals, my problem was that I couldn't eat my Pineapple Pizza's fast enough, and ended up dropping most of them on the floor to make space for Rune Drops...

With a Bunyip, you heal 9hp/ minute (10 with rapid heal). So after a half hour, you healed 270 hp or the equivalent of 14 sharks. If you'd normally need to eat more than 14 sharks in a half hour, then you need supplementary food. If 14 sharks per half hour sounds like complete overkill (before bunyip), then you should be golden.

Edit: Also, Monkfish are so 2007. Get with the times - Pineapple Pizza's are all the rage nowadays!

Ok, thanks guys. I guess I had the wrong impression about Bunyips. But they'll still help.
