Count yourself lucky. Service pack 2 is like adware x 1000, it never stops annoying you and i often have to transfer files twice over msn because of clicking the link and sp2 blocking it.

service pack2 (and all the other updates) are critical for you computer to stay safe. The updates close holes that windows has.
