August 10, 200817 yr with all the recent updates including removing the wilderness, g.e, and the trade limits. one would think jagex had completely clamped down on RWT, and that it was no longer possible? until the other day i thought this to be true, when a freind of my younger brother told me how he had just bought 30m online? surely not i thought/how? after taking a break from the slog of skilling i had been doing on my new account over the last 4 months since creation, i ventured back into varrock in world 2 for the first time in perhaps 10 months. junk trading/rwting, same thing. a massive loophole jagex missed out in their quest to remove rwt was brought to mind, how trade prices of some items differ massively to those in g.e some items can be aqquired extremely easily and then traded on for rares. another loophole....f2p pking. in my few trips to f2p version of pking i have found it extremely hard to die, hence the whole reason behind alot of prestigious f2p pkers *no armour fighting. with the most expensive f2p being saradomin armour i believe? rwting would be extremely easy, as 24 swordfish would more than last the 3 minutes needed to get out? the debate in the topic, is why did they even try. so long as there is some way players can affect prices, even slightly. and that the "kill and loot" system of old wilderness and now bounty hunter is still present, rwting will never end. after looking into on the internet, alot of sites offer gold farming services, plus many items for sale. they require password which i would never give away, but for those rwters out there this is just a hurdle in theyre quest to make money using runescape. any thoughts on this would be appreciated =) Elven Pro currently 90 range =)
August 11, 200817 yr The updates hinder RWT. Your brother's friend bought 30m, true, but it would have been much easier for him to do so before the updates. Especially since most trades take place in Bounty Hunter, where people actually have organized teams to kill RWT'ers. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
August 11, 200817 yr They were also worried about getting in legal trouble, because of stolen credit cards being used to pay for p2p bot accounts.
August 11, 200817 yr I agree that it's still too easy to RWT. Bounty Hunter and Junk Trading are exactly the ways to do it. I have a thread about how to remove junk trading but it seems like most people want to keep junk trading. Here is the thread: http://[Please Use QuickFind Code].com/c=-45ac27f8/ ... 162,goto,1
August 11, 200817 yr Real World Trading will exist as long as players exist, because as long as players exist there willl be lazy players willing to pay for levels, gold, and items. Unless you play Tabula Rasa, where money is useless and there is no market for powerleveling, in which case gold farming hasn't existed for months.
August 12, 200817 yr So long as we can interact with one-another, or so long as gold is valued above everything, then there will always be RWT. The whole idea behind "stopping" RWT is to make it less appealing or near impossible to conduct, akin to removing the optical drive from a computer -- you haven't stopped the machine from functioning, but you've hobbled the efforts of those trying to install/run malicious programs. [sorry about the analogy. It was either that or some poor Bambi.] Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.
August 12, 200817 yr Large scale RWT has stopped, along with botters, which is all that matters. Small scale RWT stills exists, but it's too small to be problematic. 2480+ total
August 14, 200817 yr JaGeX can never rid the game of RWT unless they made the game so horrible and unplayable that the customers would have no game to play, thus no reason to buy money, and the RWT would have no customers eventually. In my opinion, and probably everyone's opinion, RWTing is very very very... sad. Whoever can't work their butt's off like everyone else to make money, is probably going to end up being a hobo in the future. The Chinese need to stop ruining family's lives in China, and those families maybe would stop gold farming. This is a very annoying topic, because I can not use words to describe how frustrating this topic is. RWT is very sad, and JaGeX needs to actually try to stop banning f2p characters that can just remake their account, and close these internet websites that advertise these.
