  1. Actually, there are quite a few of them. Two of the Mount Rushmore carved heads play RS, and another one plays WoW. Everyone in Canada plays RS, but that's not to say there's anyone famous up there. Brett Favre probably used to play RS but can't decide if he still wants to. Associated Press did a poll last December, which revealed that 30% of department-store Santas play RS every night except Christmas Eve, and about half of them had multiple level 99 skills.
  2. There's probably a good reason why everyone is using a dds and dragon claws. But go try out that mace of yours, and if it turns out to be the best weapon to use, you can kick everyone's [wagon] before they catch on, at which point everyone will copy you and I will make a note of it right up here and go back to whatever I was doing before.
  3. I haven't had that problem yet. A lot of skills are pretty quick even at high levels. Other skills will be slow, but it doesn't matter as long as you are having fun. The only skill I tend to get bored with before long is ranged.
  4. The last part of the prophecy suggests that I'm basically guaranteed to be a great hero no matter what. I'll let the details work themselves out.
  5. That's true, but many people consider slayer more "enjoyable" to train. That doesn't change how long it will take to get 99 in it. Slayer is my favorite skill, so if the poll said "hardest 99" I would have voted differently. I don't agree with the notion that you have to factor in enjoyment, but maybe that's just me. Farming is a tricky question. But, I think it's really not that slow because you can get all your trees taken care of at once, then spend the rest of the day doing something else. I considered voting for prayer, because I think you have to account for all the money that goes into it. But I figure I can probably earn money quick enough to make it about as fast as the other skills. Agility is pretty slow, too. I guess it probably got left off the list because they ran out of poll options.
  6. I thought Ts was basically right, for the most part. I especially get tired of hearing about how the economy is wrecked. I think that when people say that, what it really means is that prices shifted in a way that doesn't help them. Obviously, blaming the game when you lose your spot or don't get that drop you want is bogus, too. So I was nodding the whole time I was reading this article, right up until the last example, where the agility course comes up. I think griping about game updates has its place. Some people didn't like all the experience it gave. They felt like it was screwing up the balance of the game (someone else will bicker about that, but not me), and I don't see how it's wrong for them to voice their opinions. If you always keep quiet nobody will ever hear you. Besides, they wouldn't have gone on forever. Who was the last guy who complained about the pure essence update? Some other people got mad when they changed the experience (or something like that), but, again, why shouldn't they say what they think? They liked what they had before. It totally makes sense to try to change what you don't like. When people complain they are basically pushing an agenda. The author makes it sound like such an awful thing, even though they're doing pretty much the same thing with that article.
  7. You never know. That could really happen. I'm a big fan of the myreque series.
  8. I suppose my character is lawful good, based on the quest stories. His intentions are "good" but he doesn't seem smart enough to make his own decisions. He basically just does what he's told. Also because I like Batman. I'm a big fan of Evil Dave. He seems to me like a chaotic good kind of guy, but don't tell him I said that.
  9. Well, more inventory spaces would let you carry more stuff. I thought that was obvious, but nobody seems to have mentioned it. But back then, you had your hatchet/pickaxe/whatever in you're inventory with you, and for a short time, you needed to carry a sleeping bag. So we're down to 28 again. Also, you could only get notes for maybe 15 different items, and you had to get them converted one inventory at a time. And you couldn't run, either. Also, there were no whips or dragon weapons, so you had to whack away at random event monsters with your rune 2h sword. Of course, there were no random events, either.
  10. Agreed. Maybe they will release the sailing skill 2 months early, so they can fix it.
  11. I'm not a big fan of "1337-speak" (that's what they call it, right?), so I would definitely use an English-language server if there were such a thing. I can dream, can't I?
  12. I had 99 fletching since before there was a cape for it, and I wore an untrimmed fletching cape until just a few months ago. Only one person ever said anything, and it wasn't even a rude comment, either. He was surprised that I had 127 or 128 combat and around 2050 total (at the time) and fletching was my only 99 skill. I could be wrong, but it makes me think that you may be overreacting to something one person might have said, and that it's not really something that happens to you all the time.
  13. Well, I want to get 99 slayer and 2200 total and get a little closer to filling up my costume room. And I guess I also want to hang on to my quest cape and keep up with the Achievement Diaries. Why not?
  14. I think getting levels is better than having levels. And "high" is always one more step up from wherever you are at the moment.
  15. Barrows :P Actually, I think dragon knives would be a lot of fun to play with. Or maybe a "dragon gem" of some kind, which could be used to make a really powerful "dragon amulet." And maybe it could have teleports, similar to the glory amulet or the skills necklace. I don't know what color the gem would be. Maybe purple, like an antifire potion.
  16. Maybe we will get to mine really pure essence and use it to craft big nature runes. Or maybe it's just a bug
  17. I'm level 133, and I think more people wanted to start conversations when my combat was in the 80-100 range. Since then, more and more of my conversations begin with "what item is that?" or "how long did that 99 skill take?" I hate to say it, but a lot of times I don't bother responding, because it always seems to lead to more questions.
  18. I agree that it would be nice to see a little more creativity in where new items come from. I think treasure trails are probably closest to what you are talking about. They are normally time consuming, some require you to have the right items or have access to an area that requires a quest, and you never know what you will end up with until it's too late.
  19. I'm not too worried about it. I feel sure that it won't be feathers, because they're stackable (No other pouch has a stackable secondary ingredient). I suppose it could be ashes, but those are so easily obtained that we will never be in any real danger of running out. And besides, my crystal ball isn't working that well. I wrongly predicted both of today's NFL playoff games. Who thought the Arizona Cardinals would be any good?
  20. One rumor I hear every week is that the RuneScape economy was irreparably destroyed by the latest update. People buy into it every time, and it starts to spread any time an item goes up or down in price. So far, the economy seems to be holding up just fine.
  21. One of my favorites is a skeleton between the two Dark Beast spots. "I don't understand, why didn't he go back to Lumby?"
  22. On the other hand, if you're doing something profitable, your profit gets cut in half. Sometimes it's not worth doing. Experience from a cannon also seems to double, so I'll probably use the chest and legs when I get something like dagannoths for slayer.
  23. I remember playing one of the first Pokemon games on the old Game Boy, and it had a timer to keep track of game time for you. I think it took me somewhere around 20 hours to beat that game, but you have to consider that RuneScape is a much larger and more complex game, so with that in mind my estimate is that I've played at LEAST 75 hours.
  24. My mom bought me RuneScape membership several years back. It was way back in RSC, so we didn't have wallie cards. Instead, my mom got out an index card and a marker and wrote, "I'm going to buy you a RuneScape membership for a while." Then she put the card in an envelope and gave it to me for my birthday. We had to buy members the old fashioned way. Kids have it too easy these days.
  25. I read them all. If I think an article is really good I'll read it twice. The poll results are going to be skewed now because there was no option for 125%.
