Also , do you think i got a good deal and is it easy or very hard to learn how to use the programs , another question , were do i get the updated brushes like for example halo brushses , does the programs come with them? And how do i get the backgrounds , are they easy to make?

My only thing here is your inexperience. Honestly, I would have said to do the 30 day trial and see what you really could do before you just bought this. That is very expensive and to truly get good you do have to have talent. Just learning the program can only get you so far.

As for the programs it came with, you already know what Photoshop is capable of apparentally so nothing on that. Imageready is used to make animations. Illustrator is a great program for making vectors and drawing in. I'm not sure what InDesign or Cue are.

Your last set of questions just make me so uneasy. You've bought the programs so dont' worry about whether they are going to be hard or difficulty. Just learn them. There may be a set of Halo brushes, but I don't know if you truly know what that means and it's hard to tell what you'd be looking for in "Halo brushes." The program will come with its own set of brushes that have a wide range, but nothing from the media or commercial stuff. It will be some abstract and symbols and such.

You have to make the backgrounds..sigh. Having your dad spend so much I surely hope you take the time to learn the ins and outs of all of these and do more then just filter piles and some fan art. You have all the tools now, it's just a matter of your motivation and discipline and natural talent. I'm going to ignore the question about whether they are easy to make or not.

You obviously have a decent grasp on the idea of Photoshop, so I guess there isn't really any explanation needed. Illustrator is an industry standard vector software. It's used where vector (resizable without distortion) graphics are needed; mostly in print areas. After Effects is a compositing program, I like to think of it as an animated photoshop. InDesign is a page layout application. People use it for doing magazine layout, brochures, posters, and other things print related. It works well hand in hand with Illustrator. If you bought CS2 then the new Adobe Bridge probably came with it. That's a new feature (that I have yet to try, despite having CS2) that helps to integrate all the software together so it's easier to move from program to program. Adobe Version Cue is what helps you organize file types and (ironically enough) the different versions of different files. It's for use with Adobe Bridge.

If anything, buying a program you know nothing about usually drives you to try and learn it better. And if not, then at least Adobe is getting some money back for all those people who pirate their software.

$900 is a pretty good deal for the whole package, I think I remember it costing our studio alot more than that. Then again, that was for multiple and floating licenses.

They were all rated quite well in a recent pc magazine. I suggest going to

http://www.pcmag.com and doing a search. You will find more information on each program.

The page layout program is competing with Quark for dominance in that market. Illustrator and PS are the leaders in their niche. Overall, you are getting a lot of good programs. But a great program is not helpful if you don't use it. So make sure before laying out the 900 bucks.
