PumpkinPete112
So lately at random times my computer suddenly gets super slow. When I always open the Task manager my CPU Usage is at 100%. I restart my computer the first time= That blue screen about how it couldnt boot down and how it went to blue becuase it didnt want to damage windows, Turn off your computer. So i did and it was fine. So this went on more frequently for about 4 days. The only antivirus i have is "PC Tools ANtivirus" which came with the computer but has an active protection. Today when it happened I found that "Aolloader" was the process keeping my CPU Usage at 100% I ended the process and now its fine. I did some research and found it is either nothing or a trojan. So i downloads a proper antivirus and "Security Task Manager" for when it happens again. Any other ways to look before it happens again? Makoto_the_Phoenix
I'm doubting that it's a trojan at this point in time. Do you just so happen to have AOL internet or AIM services? urbestfreind
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96653.aspx - From Microsoft. It's a usable version of task manager, gives you more info on the process trees, what all the processes are (company and description), cpu/memory usage, better graphs, etc. Should help you determine what belongs and what needs to go easier. I did a bit of research, and most people seem to be in a consensus that aolloader is a cpu hog, taking up around 50%. I would say uninstall any version of AOL Instant Messanger (I think 6.0 is the main problem), and any other AOL software (free internet and other bloatware/trialware) that you don't need. If you do use AIM, try Trillian or maybe Meebo, which should help wit that problem as Meebo is web-based, and Trillian is a rather light, multi-client application. I don't think it's a trojan, just AOL being AOL. [hide=Funny Quotes]So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head?
