I died at Ape Atoll and lost my tailsman and monkey speak amulet and need them back in order to go there peacefully again lol do i do it the normal way and do i collect the tailsman off the monkey but when i say i lost it he just simply cries

From what I remember, when the monkey cries that you lost it, you just walk away and talk to him again. He "forgets" that you lost it and gives you another one.
