Ginger_Warrior
They actually jack up the price of diesel by 50%?!!! Are they out of their minds? The high tax rate was appropriate at the time it was set (when a barrel of oil cost a tenth of what it does now). It does need a review, and perhaps a windfall tax needs to be introduced on energy companies too to stop them exploiting customers due to their monopolies. One poster mentioned Welfare, and I would have to agree with him if that's the case in his area. A person is supposed to at least try to find work in order to qualify, unlike Social Security. It depends what welfare you're on about. It's not exactly a desirable process to go through - you make it sound like you go into a building full of fluffy pink cushions and they give you benefits on a saucer with a cup of tea and some biscuits to while away the time. People who cheat the welfare system are a minority and efforts are constantly being made to stop them doing it. However, there are people who need them, due to a lack of jobs in their area or an incapacity to work and therefore, have no way of earning money. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
baron8000
I have absolutely no problem paying taxes if they go to the deserving, or rather, as long as there is a system that makes it as sure as possible (100% perfect government agency? Not likely). I'll regret saying this when I'm a lawyer and have to pay stupid% of my income to the state, but I'm sure I can find a way around that  - the line between tax avoidance and evasion is the width of a prison cell bar after all
