The most appropriate way to do this?

Im in the process of developing a website which will show live updates for football. It will show goals, bookings, results etc... If your not sure what I mean, take a look at this site and hopefully that gives you a better idea. Essentially, what would be the best way to make something like this. I do not want to use flash. Also, suggest ANYTHING :)

Thanks in advance,

Earpy.

Ajax.

I'd agree that Ajax might be the best way to go about it.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Yep AJAX is the only easy way to do this without going into Flash or Java etc.

Where are you getting the data from?

Well, I was planning on doing something along the lines of a form which submits to a MySQL Database. The scrolling section of the screen (bit at the bottom with the latest updates) would then only show the last 6 entries, and when a new one is added, it would scroll up, removing the top one and placing the latest one at the bottom.

Time to get stuck into Ajax I s'pose
