Sprout_teh_druid
Anyone remember that news post made so many years ago that listed a bunch of future updates? We got a bunch of them. Summoning, Construction, and yet there are also some we didn't get. One of those was a proposed 'random adventure' that you and your friends could work through. The closest thing we have to that now is Temple Trekking and Barrows, but even then, it's a solo experience, and still pretty predictable. I propose this theory of how random dungeons could be implemented. Firstly, there would be several special dungeon entrances around the world. These would be marked by a green exclamation point, to mark them aside from the normal dungeons. Outside of each of these would be a 'spelunker' NPC or something that you could talk to to get information. Each dungeon entrance would relate to a special 'theme' of dungeon- swamp caves, ice palace, desert temple, etc. By talking to the spelunker, you could recieve a 'Book of Mazes' or something, which would explain the dungeoneering process. Using Clan Chat, you and up to 7 other people could enter a dungeon together, have a private, random copy, and eventully get a reward. Dying in the dungeon would result in the usual item loss- but you can't reenter. Instead, your items would appear in a magical chest outside the dungeon entrance. After gearing up and having all of the members of your clan-chat ready to enter, the chat leader would select to enter the dungeon. He would get a box asking him what difficulty he wants. There are five difficulties. The higher the difficulty, the more powerful the monsters and the better the loot. A prompt would appear to all the group members, detailing the dungeon info and asking them if they are ready. After everyone is ready, you will enter the dungeon. The dungeon is built on a grid- depending on the dungeon and the difficulty, it could be bigger, smaller, have a lot of floors, or be just one single floor. There are many different types of rooms. By completing a room's 'challenge', you can go into another room. There could be side paths for extra treasure and stuff, and being thorough could be very benificial. So, for example, let's say you select Easy Goblin Fort as a dungeon. You get a map of 3 floors, the rooms being laid out on a 5x5 grid with no wasted space. Some rooms would be 1x1. Others would be larger. At the end of a dungeon, you reach a treasure room where you recieve a reward and can exit. Some dungeons might even have a time limit- can you get the treasure of the sunken ship before it's lost to the endless blue? Some examples of rooms: 1x1 Basic Room: A basic room with monsters or a puzzle/trap. Complete the challenge and move on. 2x1 Basic Room: A larger room with more monsters, etc. 2x1 Chapel: A room with an altar. 3x3 Boss Room: Where the dungeon boss is located. 1x1 Treasure Room: The Dungeon Exit and End Treasure is found here. Anyways, you'd go through the dungeon with your limited resources. You can't leave to restock, so do you bring more food, or more prayer pots? It's an important choice you have to make. Rewards would consist of gold, armor, that kind of thing. In addition, completing a dungeon rewards 'Dungeoneering Points' or something that will allow you to obtain special equipment from the Dungeoneering Guild in Varrock or something. Thoughts? Dungeon Ideas? Post away. Can be looted to obtain a variable item and reobtain the imp jar. If you are insane, it can instead be exchanged for impling jars from Elnock Inquisitor. D. V. Devnull
The only way that I will support something like this....... Is IF there is an optional mode provided where teammates can re-stock/re-enter, at the potential cost of a lesser reward for completing the dungeon. You provide that option, and you will have my support, but not until then. :-k I can agree, however, that the non-loss of armor/weapon/other items should be present as part of the rules, just as you have posted... Safe minigames and such are much more fun, in my opinion. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
jjjon123
WOW  This sounds like a rip-off of one of my old suggestions (before the crash)... Yeah, sounds cool I always like the idea of RGE's (randomly generated enviroments), I support. 1,000 F2P Total Level Reached 10/8/10 ! Sprout_teh_druid
Yes, I think some options for safe dungeons with lesser rewards and the ability to resummon teammates with a penalty could be added. Perhaps the entrance room could have a summoning circle- and maybe some other rooms along the way. Or it could be a spell. Can be looted to obtain a variable item and reobtain the imp jar. If you are insane, it can instead be exchanged for impling jars from Elnock Inquisitor.
