  1. And another player, who also pays that 6 dollar a month, thinks that fixed games should be removed, for whatever reasons... So he will want the same as you, fun for his 6 dollars... following your logic it's also his right to claim that. But that would be the complete opposite of what you want. So you see, the arguement about the 6 dollars a month is useless, in every rant or discussion topic, because there's always at least one person who thinks the complete other way about how he wants his 6 dollars turned into the game. ~Prozac~ The six dollars argument isn't my point. My point is that if someone enjoys having fun a certain way, and that way doesn't ruin the fun of someone else, why take it away? Let's say that someone really hates woodcutting. They claim that woodcutting should be removed because it's incredibly boring. Now, what about the people who like woodcutting? Them cutting wood doesn't destroy anyone else's enjoyment of the game- removing woodcutting would. The same applies here- all of the people that, for whatever reason, hate fixed games have no real argument because they are only being irritated by them because they choose to be irritated by them. Now, since Jagex has officially outlawed fixed game clans, they do have a point, however, if Jagex were to remove the rule, there would be absolutely no reason to complain about it. It's like the woodcutting analogy- the only people who would be affected by other people playing fixed games for rewards would be uptight people who can't stand others having fun in ways they don't like.
  2. Honestly, in my opinion, the bottom line here is that I pay six dollars a month to have fun. If I get my fun from participating in 'fixed' minigames to obtain rewards, so what? It doesn't affect anyone else but me, and I see absolutely no reason for Jagex to prevent me from having fun in this manner. I'm not doing it at anyone else's expense, i'm not exploiting glitches, i'm simply having fun in my own way, as does everyone else who plays Runescape.
  3. This reminds me of an incident that happened a while back to me where they banned me for about an hour for something someone else did in the vicinity of me... course, this was way back, but it still gave me quite a scare.
  4. I agree for most other people.. but for me, I usually still freak out quite a bit.. mainly cause i'm just a paranoid fool.
  5. Ugh. Well, it would suck. I'd probobly throw a fit at first and quit. Then I might come back for a good update and eventually regain it.
  6. Personally, i'm just hoping that it just doesn't start ANOTHER new quest chain that doesn't get another installment for a few years.
  7. Personally, i'm saving my points. I suspect that there will be some new rewards soon due to all the complaints, and i'm worried that point gathering will be nerfed.
  8. I'm pretty sure that crafting elemental and catylistic runes uses runecrafting.
  9. How did you manage to do that? I'm pretty sure you need an actual room on the first floor to build a room above it on the second.
  10. Yes, I think some options for safe dungeons with lesser rewards and the ability to resummon teammates with a penalty could be added. Perhaps the entrance room could have a summoning circle- and maybe some other rooms along the way. Or it could be a spell.
  11. Anyone remember that news post made so many years ago that listed a bunch of future updates? We got a bunch of them. Summoning, Construction, and yet there are also some we didn't get. One of those was a proposed 'random adventure' that you and your friends could work through. The closest thing we have to that now is Temple Trekking and Barrows, but even then, it's a solo experience, and still pretty predictable. I propose this theory of how random dungeons could be implemented. Firstly, there would be several special dungeon entrances around the world. These would be marked by a green exclamation point, to mark them aside from the normal dungeons. Outside of each of these would be a 'spelunker' NPC or something that you could talk to to get information. Each dungeon entrance would relate to a special 'theme' of dungeon- swamp caves, ice palace, desert temple, etc. By talking to the spelunker, you could recieve a 'Book of Mazes' or something, which would explain the dungeoneering process. Using Clan Chat, you and up to 7 other people could enter a dungeon together, have a private, random copy, and eventully get a reward. Dying in the dungeon would result in the usual item loss- but you can't reenter. Instead, your items would appear in a magical chest outside the dungeon entrance. After gearing up and having all of the members of your clan-chat ready to enter, the chat leader would select to enter the dungeon. He would get a box asking him what difficulty he wants. There are five difficulties. The higher the difficulty, the more powerful the monsters and the better the loot. A prompt would appear to all the group members, detailing the dungeon info and asking them if they are ready. After everyone is ready, you will enter the dungeon. The dungeon is built on a grid- depending on the dungeon and the difficulty, it could be bigger, smaller, have a lot of floors, or be just one single floor. There are many different types of rooms. By completing a room's 'challenge', you can go into another room. There could be side paths for extra treasure and stuff, and being thorough could be very benificial. So, for example, let's say you select Easy Goblin Fort as a dungeon. You get a map of 3 floors, the rooms being laid out on a 5x5 grid with no wasted space. Some rooms would be 1x1. Others would be larger. At the end of a dungeon, you reach a treasure room where you recieve a reward and can exit. Some dungeons might even have a time limit- can you get the treasure of the sunken ship before it's lost to the endless blue? Some examples of rooms: 1x1 Basic Room: A basic room with monsters or a puzzle/trap. Complete the challenge and move on. 2x1 Basic Room: A larger room with more monsters, etc. 2x1 Chapel: A room with an altar. 3x3 Boss Room: Where the dungeon boss is located. 1x1 Treasure Room: The Dungeon Exit and End Treasure is found here. Anyways, you'd go through the dungeon with your limited resources. You can't leave to restock, so do you bring more food, or more prayer pots? It's an important choice you have to make. Rewards would consist of gold, armor, that kind of thing. In addition, completing a dungeon rewards 'Dungeoneering Points' or something that will allow you to obtain special equipment from the Dungeoneering Guild in Varrock or something. Thoughts? Dungeon Ideas? Post away.
  12. Yes, I think RS needs some more challenging content. Something that isn't just challenging until someone figures out the inevitable formula for beating it easily. Perhaps the randomly generated team dungeons that was mentioned in that news article so long ago can bring us what we want. (actually, I think I might go post a suggestion about that right now.. brb)
  13. Personally, I think the ads are useful. They create more players, thus giving JaGeX more money to spend on making the game better. Sure, they aren't often the most mature of players, but they are still helping the game. Technically.
  14. It's just one of the methods that JaGeX uses to prevent people from getting too much of an item. It happens in a lot of MMOs. The alternative is to create instanced dungeons that require a lot of food and time to go through and fight the boss, which would then only have a chance of dropping it, and that's simply not how RS works.
  15. Well, GE prices are already seemly effected. I'm sure a bunch of people will still remain against it and not return, but a bunch of people will come back. For the most part, nature runes, potions and whatnot are expected to rise due to the new high demand.
