I want to know is it that bad if someone asks me for my age ingame,and i enter 1 number that represents my age.I ask this because I checked in runescape rules and it says even giving out information is ilegal (it was private chat altho)... I know other private informations are highly forbidden,but now since I read about age,im just wondering

 

 

 

I want to know am I safe for this,because I dont understand the purpose of this rule pretty well,but it might be just because of saftey and not that important...?

Its for safety reasons and isn't allowed in any form.

You are perfectly allowed to say to another player: "Hi, my name is Steve (only give out your first name to friends though and then over private chat) and im 15 and I live in The US"

 

 

 

You are not allowed to say though : "Hi, my name is Steve Stevenson and I live in Malibu beach, my phone number is..."

 

 

 

You are allowed to say to another player: "What country are you from?" Its then up to the other player to tell you his/her age or what country they are from.

 

 

 

For our players' privacy and safety, you must not ask for personal details such as full name, email address, instant messenger handles, telephone number or your home/school address or age. You also must not post anyone's personal contact details (including your own) on our in-game chat or forums.

 

 

 

Don't tell ANYONE your real name, email address, home address, messenger handle or phone number. Use your RuneScape in-game friends list to chat and interact with the other players safely.

 

 

 

So, you are allowed to tell others your age, but not to ask about theirs

 

 

 

You can ask what country they are from but not their home address or street.

 

 

 

You are allowed to tell to others your first name but not your full name

 

 

 

You are not allowed to ask for other players name or age.
