Ultimate To-do quest guide!

 

 

 

In this guide, you will find exactly which quest to do, and why. No, this is not your everyday guide where it will just tell you the reward, or sort out the xp rewards. I will tell you wether it is worth doing the quest for that certain aspect. There will be the best guide linked for each skill/activity.

 

 

 

To use this guide, search the category you want. For example, you want a quest that will help Woodcutting. You see "As a First Resort..." click on it, and read it. You see that's it's worth doing the quest only if you cut Yews. So now, use the search function [ctrl+F] then search up As a First Resort... Read the other uses for the quest. You'll see that it helps in Runecrafting, money making, and much more. Make sure you read each of the uses, because sometimes I list a quest under a category just to prove that it's not useful. As a First Resort... is listed under God War Dungeon, when in fact it doesn't help at all, which is stated in the review. In the end, it's up to you to decide if you want to do the quest or not.

 

 

 

General uses

The Ava's accumilator picks up Steel arrows and equips them automatically if you don't have anything in your quiver. The Attractor, however, picks up Iron and steel arrowheads, which takes up inventory space, so it's pretty useless. If you're skilling, you'll want to wear an Accumilator to obtain free Steel arrows.

 

 

 

Do this quest if you have 50 Ranging.

Too many benefits from this quest. Energy restoration, a Hunter boost, a seller of raw meats, and 5 very nice pools all with very nice abilities.

You get access to Dorgesh-Kaan - Keldagrim train route. this allows you to travel to Keldagrim very fast, especially because you can teleport here using a Goblin Village Teleport Sphere.

You access a bank, which is a very nice location for Woodcutting teaks and Firemaking, or any other skill due to its isolation. Also, there are many spas which are very useful.

It works great after you lose your energy in God wars dungeon, or when you are doing an skill or activity that requires energy. However, for some skills such as Runecrafting, it is more efficient to use a Super energy potion.

Making money

 

 

 

[hide=As a First resort]Quest guideYou can buy raw meats from the bank which are secondary ingredients for Summoning. You can make 400k+ gp/hour doing this! (It depends on how much it's selling for, though. The best is usually Raw bird meat.)

God War Dungeon

However, the real use is of the Ancient hammer is that it is the only Bandos item that doesn't cost 1m+. However, you don't need it as you can kill hobgoblins instead, and use a Whip/godsword instead.

 

 

 

Do not do this quest for Bandos God war dungeon.

The kill count takes far too long, so by the time you are in Saradomin's room, your energy would have run out. For bandos, you can just get you kill count at Hobgoblins, negating the need for Bandos.

 

 

 

Don't do this quest for GWD.

Combat (Attack, Strength, Defense, Prayer; training, not monster hunting.)

You obtain the Ancient mace, which has a special attack that restores the equal amount of Prayer when used! It sounds good on paper, but it has extremely low stats. This is inferior to the Dragon dag (p++), so it's an optional weapon. It has some situational uses, unless you have a Saradomin godsword.

 

 

 

I wouldn't do this quest just for the Ancient mace. There are other good rewards, however. If you go Bandos and you need a weapon, this is a possibility.

[hide=As a First Resort...]Quest guideThis quest is very useful for its spas. It gives hp above normal (depends on level), along with 8 prayer. The bandos pools allows you to go Bandos, and the energy can be useful for a variety of things.

However, you don't really use that much energy while training Agility (not as much as say, Runecrafting) so I wouldn't use the spas as it takes a while to get there. If you don't make money that fast, stick with spas.

You obtain the ability to fire Beacons, which is useless. However, the rewards you obtain are very useful. The Ring of Fire and the Flame gloves are extremely useful while Firemaking.

Accumulator is misspelled. The quest is still worth doing with less than 50 ranging because you can upgrade the Attractor to an Accumulator later on.

You should be more specific and say what all the pools do, as well as the most notable items that are sold in the shops. (Mainly raw bird meat and raw beef for summoning and ogre arrows for chompy hunting.)

Correction: eucs, not teaks. You should say that the name of the location is Oo'glog of course. You might also mention that it's accessible for the quest, but none of its facilities are operative until after you complete it, except for the bank, which is unlocked on the start of the quest. Woodcutting and firemaking probably ought not to be mentioned in the same breath here, since it gives the impression that the player would be doing the two activities together. Say why it's good for woodcutting, and then say why it's good for firemaking.

 

 

 

Transportation

The wording makes it seem like the teleport sphere is a single item, like the ectophial. I would change it to "You obtain the ability to purchase Goblin Village teleport spheres from Oldak in his workshop in Dorgesh-Kaan, for the price of 2 law runes and a molten glass. Teleport spheres are stackable, one-click teleports similar to teletablets." Oh, and you also get to use the train, which you forgot about here.

Again, the wording makes the Sal[bleep]er Spring sound like an item. Try "Gain access to..." instead. And you also get to charter ships to Oo'glog. Don't forget that.

The type of person who would need to read this guide may not necessarily know why energy restoration is useful for Sara GWD in the first place. A brief explanation of Zilyana tactics would add to this section. And you left out another line break.

Restores prayer equal to what? Why is it a possibility for going to Bandos? Answers: equal to the damage dealt; it's a holy item associated with Bandos that makes his followers stop being aggressive towards you. Say so! And add an aside about what the sgs spec does, like so: (The Saradomin Godsword is more powerful as a weapon and also restores prayer with its special, so it obsoletes the Ancient Mace.)

Don't be so ambiguous. What I would say for this section is: "The temporary infinite energy granted by the sal[bleep]er spring available after this quest is potentially useful for agility training. While not necessarily a replacement for regular or super energy potions, you can save money on said potions by taking a charter ship down to Oo'glog to stop by the spa each time you bank to restock your inventory with more energy pots and/or food." Also, another missing line break.

 

 

 

Firemaking

Repetition of "useful" looks a little shabby. Change the first sentence to read "You obtain access to Beacon Lighting, which is not an effective training method." You should also clarify what the Ring of Fire, Flame Gloves, and Inferno Adze do, as well as how you get them, since they aren't given to you right after the quest as other quest rewards are.

Accumulator is misspelled again. It's fine to do the quest as soon as you can, so that you can use Ava's Device to pick up your arrows as you are training your ranged up to 50 to upgrade it. "which is" should be "which are [...] capes" or "the latter of which is" so that the verb agrees with the subject.

 

 

 

Runecrafting

This stands to be a very helpful guide and I will support your efforts with it. You need to strive to be more detailed and more specific. A great deal of the players that need a guide like this are new members wondering which quests to do first, and they will almost certainly be totally unfamiliar with stuff like the Saradomin Sword or the God Wars Dungeon, so be careful when you mention such things in passing. Sprinkle links into the text if you need to. The categorization format you use is perhaps not the best choice, since it lists so many quests multiple times--why not list them alphabetically, and list at the bottom of the entry what category the rewards fall under? Por ejemplo, Family Crest could have a little bit at the bottom saying, "Tags: Cooking, Magic, Smithing, Prerequisites." because the gauntlets benefit those skills, and the quest is a prerequisite for other stuff. (Legends Quest and Achievement Diary, iirc.) You could consider rating the usefulness in each category on a scale of 1-5 as well, with 1 being "not worth it at all" and 5 being "you'd be a fool not to do this quest."

Just skimming through it, you contradicted yourself in As a First Restort in the GWD and Combat sections.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You stated the energy restore wouldn't last long enough to be able to use for the boss, while later you state it's useful for saradomin godwars.

u also say dont do first resort for gwd...but u get prayer+ and hp+ so even if ur not goin to bandos and dont need the run energy the hp and pray pools r always worth while...
