[hide=old problem]Note: I've had 3 pairs of speakers and they've all had this problem, so I know this is not the speaker's fault.

 

When I play certain songs with my speakers, I can hear the guitar but the singing doesn't come through properly unless I set the balance all to one speaker. But then it's really quiet and not very practical. Also when I put headphones in they don't work unless I turn the speakers right up to the max.

 

Voice playback: Realtek AC97 Audio in case that helps.

 

Please don't tell me how to use the volume control in the taskbar, I already know that, and everything's on max/ balance set to the middle. -.-

EDIT: I put the 'wave' balance to one side and now it seems to one side and it seems to work but the headphones still dont work unless the volume is maxed.

 

 

 

Also, could anyone tell me what their volume control settings are to compare mine?

gongusan, call me crazy, but it sounds like your sound system is failing on that computer. That, or you have got one hell of a short somewhere in it. :geek:

 

 

 

(BTW, I have to keep my volumes on anything @ 85% or less, or suffer problems with my ears later. :( ... That's just how strong of sound systems I work/play with here.)

No worries, we all have blonde moments, me more than most considering I am a natural blonde LOL

I once had a different problem (skipping/cracking audio) and reinstalling the drivers sorted it out for me, so do indeed try that.
