Buy however many pieces of coal and however many pieces of iron (if you can't do steel then just do iron with ring of forging) and make them into steel bars. You can either sell these straight away for a profit or get a cannonball mould and make more profit from them. If you want to make even MORE profit then you could always mine the ore yourself.
