Getting around the farming patches

Featured Replies

Hey was wondering if there was a guide as to the most effective way to get around all the farming patches. I mean every single one - trees, bushs allotments & specials. Want to do some work on my farming skill.

I think I have unlocked all methods of travel except some which use familiars - I have quest cape :-).

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Doing berry bushes is pointless IMO. Hops patches are useless.

Hit up all 4 major farms (allotment x2, flower, herb), My Arm's disease-free herb patch, and each of the five tree patches, as well as the five fruit tree patches. Once you hit level 55...heh, profit.

Slayer Drops

Dragon Chainbody (dust devil), Dragon Platelegs x2, Dragon Plateskirt x3, Dragon Boots x38, Dragon Med Helm x5, Dragon Spear x3, Shield Left Half x4

Staff of Light x2, Abyssal Whip x16, Dark Bow x17, Granite Maul x17, Focus Sight, Hexcrest x2, Black Mask x4, Leaf-bladed Sword, Mystic x31, Obsidian x13, Brine Sabre x2, Spirit Shield, Dragonstone x5

Hops and bushes are good for lower lvls. I used them along with allotment and fruit trees to 71.

(Yes, I used hops even in 50s.)

They are too far out of the way of the major farming places and getting to them isn't really worthwhile.

That's true, but it all comes down to the XP. Some people don't like to go to too many patches when they farm because they forget some, but when you know what patches to go to and how much extra xp they yield per day, it's worth it for some.

In farming, all experience matters unless you want to spend a fortune, so if a hops/berry patch isn't too far out of the way, why not do it? For example the berry patch at Varrock, it's just one rechargeable bracelet tele away.

Same goes for Miscellania berry patch: when you're there for updating MTK, you might just as well pass by the patch. As a bonus, it'll give you a stack of free poison berries to pay for calquats. Or when you're at Yanille to get your sand (unless you use lunar), why not use the hops patch to get the hops you need to pay for that evil plant in Ardougne, which gives another 1,5k farming xp?

But maybe I'm weird that way. Whenever I'm in Catherby, when not planting trees, I still do a quick run to my palm tree for 6 coconuts.
