Their Defence is so high that I hit about 1 in 5 with Range (lvl 77, 88 with Ranging Potion) and it just makes for a highly inefficient task, even if it gives a fair bit of cash. Even though regular black dragons take a long time to beat down, keep in mind they are each worth 5k (bones+d'hide) plus whatever else they drop... You have to keep in mind too, though, that because of the speed I'm killing them at, it's inefficient because I can make money faster anyway.
