Yew longs are popular. Keep in mind, you can't buy anything (including nats) and alch it for a profit, you'll need to make at least some of the supplies on your own. And if there is something you can buy without making anything and profit, they usually keep it to themselves, or else you wouldn't make a profit anymore.

Some other items that are popular are green dragonhide bodies and rune items (not sure exactly which ones). It is very hard to find items that give you profit while buying the item and nats, especially because if one is found, and ever actually typed out in game or on forums, it spreads like wildfire, making it no longer profitable...

So basically just look around and try to find a good item yourself.

a great alternative to alch without losing much gp is alching air battlestaffs, u loose around 20gp ea with actual price but they a bit expensive to buy in big amounts (9080gp ea) =P but thats the best choice if you want to spend little money on alchs

btw i forgot to say... im making my own nats ::'

if you make your nats... take those items and check alch price

Doesn't 'profit' comes when ge price + 161 (pess) <= alchemy price ?

There are many items arround fletching/crafting/smithing who are concerned... since you craft your nats.

Now if you check the time spent on runecrafing + alch... with item with small loose + no runescaft+ making money activity you may consider going into the loose and use the spare time in making money.

All runescape skilling is resumed here : choice on what you spend your time on.

i'd follow guthix in a balanced way... first rc + alch to make some profit and blow it to fastern on the end. Then you'll have experimented the two way for the next time you'll have to choose.

Oh baby light the dark side...
