Adjust the sound-level on mp3s?

Yeah, I was wondering, since some mp3s/songs are much louder than others, and I was curious if there is somekind of (free) software in which you can adjust the sound-level of the mp3/music file?

Because it's mildly irritating when I'm listening to a song in my mp3-player that's pretty loud, then it switches to one which is like... really low, then the next song is very loud. Okay, that might've been a tad confusing, but you hopefully get what I'm saying. :P

So, yeah... any help on this is mucho appreciated.

download.com -> search filter free software only and away you go.

MP3Gain - Looks like it'll do what you want okay.

AutoMixer - I think this just normalises the volume of tracks as you play them, but I'm not sure.

Zortam MP3 Media Studio - Does a whole bunch of stuff, including volume normalisation.

Thanks, Cameron. I tried 'Zortam MP3 Media Studio" and it was really awesome... but I couldn't change the sound-level. The only options it had were "Normalize Track Volume" and "Analyze Track Volume", but that's not what I want to do (I think). I want to be able to alter the sound volume myself; to be able to make it lower or louder.

Maybe it wasn't clearly brought out in my previous post, but that's what I want to do. :P

Thanks though, the software can do lots of other stuff I'll find useful. :)
