July 3, 200521 yr Yeah, I was wondering, since some mp3s/songs are much louder than others, and I was curious if there is somekind of (free) software in which you can adjust the sound-level of the mp3/music file? Because it's mildly irritating when I'm listening to a song in my mp3-player that's pretty loud, then it switches to one which is like... really low, then the next song is very loud. Okay, that might've been a tad confusing, but you hopefully get what I'm saying. :P So, yeah... any help on this is mucho appreciated. Thanks. :) // Azvi.
July 4, 200521 yr download.com -> search filter free software only and away you go. MP3Gain - Looks like it'll do what you want okay. AutoMixer - I think this just normalises the volume of tracks as you play them, but I'm not sure. Zortam MP3 Media Studio - Does a whole bunch of stuff, including volume normalisation. Where the bloody hell are you?
July 4, 200521 yr Author Thanks, Cameron. I tried 'Zortam MP3 Media Studio" and it was really awesome... but I couldn't change the sound-level. The only options it had were "Normalize Track Volume" and "Analyze Track Volume", but that's not what I want to do (I think). I want to be able to alter the sound volume myself; to be able to make it lower or louder. Maybe it wasn't clearly brought out in my previous post, but that's what I want to do. :P Thanks though, the software can do lots of other stuff I'll find useful. :) // Azvi.
July 4, 200521 yr http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ I think the filter you want is called "amplify", but my memory my be playing tricks on me. Audacity does have a feature for increasing the volume though.
