Buying camcorder need help and questions

I am buying a camcorder and need some help. I am using it to tape skatevideos and just to make some vids 8) . I have looked at some from compusa and found a couple good one's. I asked my uncle (he knows alot about technology) and he said the zoom should like 300x and the one's i found are like 4x.

I am kinda on a tight buget of $150 (American). I need a memory card also. I have a 512mb sd pro duo card here so I'm thinking the 2nd link would be best since i don't have to buy another card. If i have to buy another card, I will.

i bought one I bought teh $70 camcorder. There was a display model and it looked good and clear. It is prety clear. Very mini too.

I forgot to add I rather buy it in a store. Such as compusa, bestbuy, circuitcity, ect, instaid of buying online.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also want it prety small, doesn't have to be but don't want it a giant either. Thats if you can find a better one than those i found.

No offence but have you heard the phrase "you get what you pay for"?

 

 

 

$150 is about ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã80. You cant even get a decent still digicam for that let alone a video camcorder. And you most definitly wont get anything of any usable quality on a camera worth ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã40 ($70)

 

 

 

As for the zoom. 300x zoom!!!! rofl. Maybe you should ask another uncle yeah. 10x optical zoom is more than enough for the average person. I noticed that none of the ones u posted have any optical zoom at all only digital. The 4 mega pixel res also only relates to still pics and not video footage.

 

 

 

You will also want a decent sized card if you are intending getting film. Dont get anyhting less than 512 and make sure it takes SD cards and not built in memory so you can get a bigger card if you need to.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However if the video footage you want to get doesnt need to be good quality you could simply just get a cheap digical that takes films. It will be nowhere near as good as a proper DV Camera but it might do for your skating videos.

I will post back with some i find. I looked somewhat already and all i find for $300 and under vhs tape (i think thats what its called) or mini dvd camcorder. I realy want it to just be the memory card for easy editing and not buying the mini dvds, tapes, ect.
