Help and Advice here on TIF

I have alot of times posted questions and theories/ideas about something and wanted advice or answers. Most of time i have gotten great respons. But i have lately experienced that some people are being immature and are not after helping but laughing at you or making trouble.

 

 

 

I hope that TIF admins see this. As i am very tired of posting something to get help or advice, then i get a immature respond back.

 

 

 

TIF Admins,you guys should really watch these people. Help and Advice is a forum where people get help, not a place to be immature or flame/spam a poster.

 

 

 

Anyhow, if this kind of attitude keeps going on i will erase all trace from my account and leave this community forum. I don't think you will miss, me as i won't miss you either (Sorry but i haven't made much friends, but i am to neutral i guess =P~ ).

 

 

 

Anyhow, please Admins. Do something about Help and Advice. People are posting to get help, not to get bad,immature or offensive posts.

 

 

 

I know modertors watch over this forum, and they keep well job. But people should understand that Help and Advice is not the forum to fool around.

The whole forum appears to be headed this way. Instead of old, established posters making thoughtful posts and staying around for years, we have posters coming in for a few months with semi-worthless posts before leaving. It's scaring me, honestly. I know it's discrimination, but I'd like to filter posts based on post count. Leaving the forums and community altogether seems kind of drastic though...

What do you mean? Honestly from what I've seen everyone has been pretty helpful on that forum. Care to give a few examples though?

Help and Advice is the forum I post most in. I try to be as helpful as possible, although I can't always offer the best advice, I often put in my two cents to try and be of some use.

 

 

 

To be honest I have to agree with the above post, apart from the few recent odd examples, I haven't noticed this that much. Perhaps it's in the ones i haven't read - it is difficult to keep track.. :?

Perhaps you're right. However, Help and Advice will always have people with different views of how to train which leads to a certain amount of confrontation, but in my opinion, thats healthy as it gives the person asking a few choices as to what to do. There can rarely be a definitive answer to a question.

Several times the thread tends to break down into an argument over different methods. While sometimes this is helpful by giving the OP a balanced look at both sides, more often than not it is just annoying and off topic, with posters preferring to bash on other people's methods or integrity instead of actually making constructive criticism and advice.

 

 

 

I've noticed this too, since I tend to browse through the H&A forum while doing something tedious, picking up new bits of information and trying to help out anyone I see with a question in an area I'm knowledgeable in. But yes, there are several people (generally with a low post count, true, but that's because they don't contribute anything worthwhile and thus don't post many times in a thread to explain something) who just seem to post with the first thing that pops into their heads.

 

 

 

This is the thing that happens a bit more in the chat, but shouldn't occur on the forums. On the chat, someone says something, and you reply with a "lol, that would be funny" or some comment that doesn't actually SAY anything. The problem is when people are leaving posts that either A) make a personal comment which doesn't provide any help and is unrelated to whatever the OP's talking about, or B) simply parrot what has already been said several posts previously.

Although i've be'n noticing it alot on Rants, which is a bit [insert correct word here], most one's i seem to se flame, troll or just be a bit downrigh' mean are either new users or some of our more fonded older members (which is a bit upsett'n). hopefully if this is happen'n it'll clear up soon. :

I haven't personally seen any negative responses. But I'm sure that if there are any, the admins and mods are not accepting of them. Chances are that they just didn't see the negative comment. If you do see one, REPORT IT. That is the most efficient and effective way to get the spam/flames cleared up.

Unfortunately, the flaming seems to be spreading into the other forums. For example, a recent thread asking about powermining on the H&A forum quickly degenerated into a certain player proclaiming how "powermining is nub" (direct quote, btw), and bashing anyone who went against him. Never mind that the OP didn't care about whether or not to do it, he just wanted to know how. Yet the thread went on for three pages in an all-against-one flamewar over whether powermining was "epic failz" or not. I believe the word Nazi got tossed around once or twice.

Flaming is happening because in help and advice, theres usually 5-10 people there, where almost all have completely different opinions.

 

When this happens, and people want to be helpful it gets out of hand and into a debate and/or flame war.

 

I'll admit im not one to judge people on this #-o but TIF has went down ever since the Slayer cult. -.-

I have recently experienced spam expected in my threads. It's also known users, but enough of that. I hope Admins make sure Help and Advice is very very strict as it should be.

Here's quato from thread where i asked why "My account is still logged in" (Server crashed). I also quating the first post. Anyhow people were helpful, but one guy posted spam..and he was also first poster. This shouldn't be tolerated by admin to be honest.

I believe flaming can happen in other forums easily because of different opinions, but when your asking for help then that's another thing.
