Peterblue
Which of these would be better for training ranged on? I'd like to get some actual statistics in here, but speculation is good as well. Pros and Cons: Yaks: Pros: They seem to have lower defense, and therefore provide more exp/hour. Cons: Crowded, seem to have a slightly higher, but still negligible attack and strength. Take a while to get to. Experiments: Pros: Twice as many HPs. Take less than a minute to reach. Generally not crowded. Cons: Higher defense, therefore less XP per hour. Sometimes crowded. And if anyone has them, can you post your experience rates at each of these places? RayOxide
Slayer: Fun, easy, variable. Easily occupied with checking herbs after almost every task. Also good MONEY. And a reason to train combat. I dont need a siggy no moar.
Peterblue
I've tried Slayer. After getting a rotation of two tasks for all 6 of mine, I got bored and gave up. Click here to learn the best profit from MTK.

Deathmath
viewtopic.php?f=66&t=765267 why slayer isn't great. Experiments if you don't want to pick up the hair from the yaks. Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
RayOxide
^ I did agree alot on that, but slayer still is, on herb and alchable drops alone a good mix of variety, xp and money. But if it were yaks vs experiments I'd say yaks They have people to talk to, Hides make money, and nice calming area. I dont need a siggy no moar. Lacoste
Slayer: Fun, easy, variable. Easily occupied with checking herbs after almost every task. Also good MONEY. And a reason to train combat. You have got to realize, that when someone asks a question they would like an answer, stop imposing your ideas on them and answer what they want. OT- Yaks, experiments are too far spread out, and they can get kind of lonely.
RayOxide
I do. Someone just doesnt understand the word read. I give them the fast way Then say why I dislike it, and why they should too. :P Its all opinion Dont get flared up because I just hate powertraining much more than anything else. Jesus -.- I dont need a siggy no moar.

Peterblue
Ray, I know what you mean about Slayer. I know it's good money and exp and such, but I'm going for ONLY exp. And I have decided to go with Yaks, because I tried Experiments and got bored out of my mind in 20K experience. Click here to learn the best profit from MTK. compfreak847
http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=765267 why slayer isn't great. Experiments if you don't want to pick up the hair from the yaks. If you want MUCH slower XP and drops, train slayer. If you want to get fast XP at an uncrowded spot, do experiments on a german world - almost no one there, and bronze knives + void make for very fast XP. Their defence is very close to yaks, but the extra hp and MUCH less crowded areas make for higher XP overall at experiments. Robert, slayer has all those properties you mentioned - but you can get all of them together, far faster, with other methods. Slayer will cost you over 212 million in wasted time by the time you hit 99 meleeing - and FAR more then that if you are ranging without a black mask. I personally range with hunter's crossbow and void at armored zombies, but that requires higher range or you hit too many zeros. It gives 100k+ profit\62.3k XP\~15 worth of crimsons per hour, so it makes for some nice training. (Side note: I train range\melee with slayer) Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon BootsDry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks
ultimatballr
Yaks are better exp, i think. I would go with them, however they can get very crowded very fast. I say bring a cannon with you to scare away people then take it back down and continue on. Slayer is quite possibly the WORST way to train ranged.. second to only ranging ducks with bronze javs  seriously though don't waste your time training ranged with slayer. Stick with powertraining spots and train slayer with melee which is much more effective for EVERY task. (with 1 or 2 exceptions) Apparently, my signature was to big. oake
Yes, slayer is lame, go and train range like the real boys: macroing on super-crowded spots and cursing around when someone steals your creature. the only advice is : do what u like, powertraining or enjoy the game I did my range (currently 220k from 92 and 129k from 85 slayer) while slaying most of the time and u know what? i could repeat this experience again, beacause it was Fun  And compfreak :shame: , i read ur topic about slayer 287(or something like that) i really dont like ur ideea about slayer :wall: , whould u still have dragon, rune boots, a whip, red and yellow mystic, d bow and many other items if anyone whould listen to you and didn't train slayer? Oake

I said that slayer was fun and all, but that it was terrible XP and profit. Us 'power training macroers' (Side note: when I was training range on experiments for 4 days, I saw a total of 3 other people. I see and compete with hundreds every day during slayer, and am roundly cursed should I dare intrude upon someone elses monster). Thanks for echoing my statements though - do what you like to, I personally train slayer - but if you want XP or cash, power train instead of slaying (And since when was slayer not a method of 'powertraining'?). I'm glad you enjoyed your 92 range with slayer, I got 96 range from experiments and found it quite enjoyable also, due to little competition. I've been training slayer and have been increasingly fed up with the annoying attitudes and constant competition, almost to the point of stopping training altogether. You train your way, I'll train mine. Facts: Slayer is BAD XP, BAD money, and BAD charms. Training at a monster like experiments will result in much more XP in much less time. You can pick which one you enjoy more, but get the facts straight. RayOxide
People only do say slayer because higher levels like Campbell and Digi in Esc have real luck with drops in higher level things. But, theres no denying slayer is the best combination for xp, money, charms, clues, and fun. :P Anyway, just some info I gained on experiments from my friend He's been grinding there 50-99 range hes 98 now and it doesnt get too crowded. When it does he just goes to DA and duels peoples. If either yaks or experiments I'd really just say they're both hardcore grinding and dont appeal to me Note; ifyou ever see me killing yaks its NOT what it looks like :? I dont need a siggy no moar.
