The mask is a drop from cave horrors that boosts your melee stats when you're fighting your assigned slayer monster. It's the best helm to wear on slaying tasks. But what if you're fighting something like Dust Devils, where you need to wear a facemask? The slayer helm is an item that combines all the slayer headgear (nosepeg, facemask, earmuffs) into one helm, and throws in a black mask to boost your melee stats as well! However, you can't just go buy one - you need to amass 400 slayer points, then purchase the ability to make one from a slayer master.
