InkofDeath
Been learning ActionScript/Flash in my High School course, we've done a lot of the basics, and are now moving into using all of the basics to create a little bit more complex programs/games than just having say a normal race track, more so combat related elements and such, and manipulating functions, variables, arrays and basic commands to a higher level. So because of that I've been looking online for communities around ActionScript/Flash that are helpful, and aren't just there to help you, but to communicate with you and to work together in a more friendly kind of sense. I've really been drawn into the possibilities with AS to be honest. It's a nice, simple language with a lot of power for moderate programming, and has tons of opportunities in web programing. I've looked at numerous forums, and help sites, but the majority are either underdeveloped, horribly disorganized, or the level of knowledge is very basic, and not up to formulating complex scripts in ActionScript. I know I've only been learning AS for 3 months now, but our teacher does have his Masters in CS, and his thesis was on AS and he's informing us that we've got around 3/5s of the entire language done, and whats left is just simple tricks & shortcuts, and to broaden our creativity with the code. Which is exactly why I'm looking for a community! Another thing I'm looking for is tutorials, or guides, or whatever that are organized neatly, and are presented well enough so that you can actually learn from them. A lot of guides off Google are astonishingly dreadful, or non-specific. So if you know of any, please post! And if anyone here is doing, or is learning AS, I'd be glad to hear about anything you know as well! :) Thanks for any effort!
pryomancer
I'd like to learn AS and Flash, pretty essential if I want to be a web developer. Try pixel2life, it probably has some tutorials of a decent quality.
Errdoth
Try pixel2life, it probably has some tutorials of a decent quality. Pixel2life doesn't really have all too active a community. I published a tut on there, and tried to hang out for a bit, but there wasn't too much going on :| Last.fm Signature Overlays
ClareJonsson
When I was learning Actionscript I drew partially on my previous experience with PHP, Fenix, C and Javascript. When I say partially, it was also a bad thing as Actionscript I found to be awkward, but after you get used to the idea of it all revolving around time lines, it's really quite fun!
