ringing noise from monitor?

i hear a ringing noise from my monitor everynow and then

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

is it from overheating? or wat? its a CRT

could be overheating, how long do you keep your monitor on every day? & do you keep it on when you go outside? try turning it off when your not using your pc.

It's perfectly normal, you just have good hearing :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's a reallly *high* tone that goes directly to your earbones IIRC

 

 

 

Same as when you turn on a tv with mute, you still hear a ringing...

On another note: It can be cured by buying an LCD :wink:

Try changing your desktop resolution to a higher resolution (say from 800 by 600 to 1024 by 768 pixels. my monitor use to have an anoying ring too and that fixed the problem. hope that helps

I hate LCD screens ;) I would stick with the ringing even if it were louder than hells bells.

I had mine at 1600x1200 to test that out, it doesn't help for me at least ;)
