Shouldn't the guy Bork is guarding not be available to help him out now? Can we get confirmation on whether or not he's still around after the quest?

Bork is still around. I paid him a visit yesterday.

You can kill Bork once every 24 hours. While Surok is no longer around to mage while you battle Bork, a dagon'hai follower is.
