It's a halfling castle! :o

No, seriously.. You got perspectives totally screwed up. Even that wall turns weirdly.. It looks like the ground would be going up but then the water would flood.. And shouldn't the water be bit lower in that thing anyways? It might get into the castle. Got to admit though that I love your choice of colors. Just learn to fix small things like making the things more detailed like using chains instead of strings. Try drawing it on paper before actually pixelling it next time. :)

Oh.. And about that water.. It's really pretty but it looks more like a carpet.

yeh, i sort of figured that, lol, thanks for the c/c, oh and the arm band is a double strap if u look carefully..

and i did draw it out on paper, lol, i think it's out of perspective cos of when i had to resize the sketch... and the hands need a bit of detail, lol

Maybe hes just really big? You've heard of David and Goliath haven't ya? I like it because you're beginner and its pretty decent compared to what some people come up with, the character makes it but you've done a good job with the background shading, maybe you just got carried away with the grainy texturing cus I dont recon it suits the wall, water and the bridge. look up other methods like for wooden things I usually add long stroked lines to make it look more like you'd see in real life, you don't need the full detail and colouring just a small hint would make it look wooden when you zoom out. and the bricked wall would need some highlights on each brick to make it look not so flat, water is tricky but I usually build up watery colours mixed in hints of others to mimic the reflection from objects onto the water.

Maybe you can see from a previous sig, you would obviously tone down the amount of reflection cus on this pic theres a sun right above the water.

I start with a simple bluey colour, gradient the water so it becomes lighter towards the light source and then simply build up the reflections with similar shades until it looks right. With reflections I try and use similar colours that from afar blend in, if you have a green bush in the water the reflection will look much more like the colour of the water at this certain angle, but feel free to try full on reflections which would be much clearer.

The cage-like-door-thingy on the castle needs to have thicker... metal bar thingies. It looks like there's just a bunch of string instead of a metal castle door-type bar thingy.

...

What ARE those metal door-type thingies called?
