not sure if this has ever been mentioned

but...the dragon square doesnt give much more defense than a rune kite and is basically there for a bit more def and show

y not give it a special property...like making it have the properties of a antibreath shield...

it is a dragon shield afterall

I never really got the point of dragon armor. It's not all that better than rune since legs are the only part that's better. Rune plate and Drag chain are basically the same, just look different, so Drag should have at least SOME resistance to firebreath.

if drag chains aren't that much better than a rune plate, then why do they cost like 30 mil extra? And then barrows gives even more defense and costs less than a drag chain. (and thats for a full set)

seriously....what da f? :?

Well I reckon that's a good idea as well if you add on some special properties, since it costs so damn much and has only slightly better stats than rune. I think I know why dragon costs more than the lvl 70+ sets, it's probably because it never gets damaged unlike the sets.

a dragon chain is inifintely more rare than a rune plate, and most people that get one get it for the looks or just to show how rich they are.

Wow, Bubsa, I'm beginning to love you, you are perhaps one of the more intelligent people on these forums.

As he has already pointed out, the Dragon Chain is only marginally better than the Runite Plate.

All Dragon armour is only 2-6 Extra Armour points I believe.

This is because it is all what you could call Stage 1 or Tier 1 Armour (Plate>Chain, Full/Large>Medium and Kite>Square)

The only exception is the Dragon Platelegs, these are much better than Runite PlateLegs, because Dragon is a much better material.

Also for those wondering why Dragon is far more expensive, its because it is ONLY obtainable from rare drops, it shows wealth if you have a set of Dragon armour.

i dont care about the def...

y not make a square useful then...cause when kite comes out...sqaure will be rendered useless

y not add the antibreath feature on the sq only...so theres still a reason to use it??

Squares are useless in every type of armour. Why would it be different for dragon?

Besides, the kite may not come out for ages. It's not in the source (Oops, didn't say that)

PS. For something alittle more on topic and non spam, I'd have to agree with Bubsa again (It seems to be something occuring more frequent eh?)

I believe the ONLY time Square shields were used over Kite's, is plainly when there were none, I don't expect many of you people to remember this, but back in the day, I believe Shield's up to Mithril Squares/Steel Kite's were out, Mithril was used to show that you were extreamely rich.

And Further more back in Blueroses' 99 smithing run thingy-me-bob, she was the leading smith, and Square's are smithable before Kite's are they not, however as soon as Kite's were smithable, and then later on Mass produced, the Value of a Runite Square Shield dropped dramatically.

A believe the value of a Rune Square is around 300 less than its High Alch Price *(The 300 is for the cost of the nature rune ;) )*

Since I Tripple posted, I'm going to edit this one to make it a 'usefull' post.

Well, the supposed theory behind your logic of Dragon Square = Anti Dragon Square with 2nd best Shield stats is solely in the name.

None of the other Dragon armour has the anti breath quality, so why should the shield, and further more, wouldn't that just be making the strong stronger? Sounds alittle redundant if you ask me.

I'm sure if it was called the 'Purpnonic Square Shield of Shielding' you wouldn't not have suggested that you give it anti dragon breath quality.

'Purpnonic Square Shield of Shielding'

that's funny

anyway, not having the added defense of a normal sheild is part of what makes fighting dragons more difficult than other monsters.
