  1. Idle rule is moronic, when I was Opping #Runescape I never enforced it and noone ever told me too. Let the god damn people idle, some of them like to log chat and look over, admins do it all the time, I remember when grin_king was 98 hours+ idle. If you care about how long someone is idle you're far too uptight.
  2. Where is my mention? 8-) I don't look at these forums much (Infact it's been almost 5 months since I logged on last) and when I come to have a little check-up, what do I see. :( You've always been a good friend Nate and it's been great knowing you. We'll always have IRC :D
  3. This month we are releasing two quests based in the Varrock area. The first of these tells the story of Tolna, a young lad who left Varrock years ago to seek his fortune. Little did he know that his journey would only take him a few feet before the cruel hand of fate would snatch him up and throw him down into the pit of despair. Recent surface activity in the area has unearthed some dangerous crevices into the caves below. After all these years, can the boy still be alive? And if so, what sort of condition will he be in? Adventurers willing to take on these questions are sure to be faced with some difficult challenges but will be rewarded with new training areas and some quite fantastic cutscenes. The second quest of the month will start on the pass from Varrock to the Salve Temple. An odd old man carrying a large sack of bones has a problem and will need your help to solve it. Why is he collecting all these bones? Why is the mysterious sack on his back making odd mumbling sounds? Although this quest is designed for low level players, high end players will find a better reward from the optional "big boned" list. Later this month the gnomes get a new advantage on the Khazard Battlefield with the appearance of Battle Tortoises. These armoured tanks, mounted by mages and rangers, are sure to be quite a challenge for the General and his troops, but beware - they leave quite an impression! We are also updating the Wilderness this month with new teleportation portals and a repeatable minigame. The portals act as a new way of getting round the Wilderness, but be careful. Once a portal is activated, everyone in the immediate area will be moved away, so don't rely on it to get out of trouble... you may find that trouble follows you through! Wilderness Tag features a series of pillars dotted around the entire of the wilderness, with players being invited to tag them, similar to the way the Agility Arena works but without the timers. Players who successfully tag all the pillars (featuring various levels of difficulty) are rewarded with a generous helping of combat XP in the discipline they choose. Be careful, though, it is the Wilderness after all. As Easter approaches, the Easter Bunny starts preparing for the busy month ahead. This year, however, he is feeling a bit lazy and so has asked the local rabbits to give him a hand. Sadly, they aren't as clever as they are cute... so it's a good job the land is full of helpful adventurers to correct the mistakes they are making. With a new seasonal emote and magical eggs, we are sure you'll be happy to celebrate Easter with the kids of RuneScape. The biggest update this month will be Pest Control, a brand new player vs monster minigame. The Void Knights are a military order who have helped serve Guthix and his penchant for balance since the early God Wars. It is their job to ensure that the flux of good and evil that come through to Gielinor each day remains constant, but there are some beasts they find more difficult to accept than others. The portals they have found are nothing but pure evil, and so must be shut down at any cost. Protect the Void Knight from the invading hordes for 20 minutes or go and destroy their portals yourself while your friends rebuilt the smashed barricades left behind you. With 6 new creature types and boats visiting the portals as soon as enough volunteers are available, we are confident this game will become a firm favourite for fans of cooperative gameplay. Also in April we launch city pamphlets to help newer players find out what Varrock can offer and more readers' letters, focusing on the thousands of letters you have sent in addressed to the mime.
  4. Wrong forum; moved to RuneScape Discussion and Suggestions, this is for the http://www.tip.it/Runescape website, not for the game.
  5. Alas, it doesn't look like the complicated and long quest I was hoping to give a Blood Alter reward does it?
  6. If you wanted to be REALLY accurate, its the 109758+ users that he wants to move off. Trojann, you say some of your friends have moved off server 9, maybe you should join them?
  7. I can indeed confirm that the Ring Of Stone has the ability to remove the effects of a Entangle spell, or a Ice based Ancient Magick spell. This does not provide an immunity, you can still be frozen but using the Ring of Stone, you can remove the binding effects within around 2-3 seconds. Once a player has been bound my a magical effect, using the ring of stone, they can turn into a stone, and revert back into a Human again, they will be able to move once they have turn back into a human. Now whether or not this is a bug is questionable, regardly I personally don't believe the approx 5 Million gp cost on the ring ( 33k * 150 ) is not a justifyable cost. Sure you can get out of a Abyss pkers bind while your RuneCrafting, but when happens when he runs up to you and gets a luck dragon dagger special combo? You've lost your pouches, glory, AND your 5 Million GP Ring. If you are willing to take the risk and reap the rewards, then go ahead, your either one of three things. 1) Richer than me 2) Willing to take a larger risk than me 3) Stupider than me ~Chaosbringer
  8. Because it was something brand new that had just been released, because I wanted to support the company that had given me such fun over countless hours. Oh, and heres the best one. Because I could.
  9. No, I've played my full 5 years (Infact, It was my 5 year anniversary 9 days ago - the day I created my RuneScape account ) Last time I saw Bluerose was around 2 / 3 months ago ingame, I gave her a quick hello, amazingally as it is, no one was bothering her, I guess most people don't remember her anymore - something that I'm sure she enjoys.
  10. Rune 2 Handed Swords went in the order of 5 Million  4 Million  2 Million  1 Million  400-600 Thousand  45 - 55 Thousand. Musa was the factor from 5 Million down to 400-600 Thousand, he sold in the higher bracket ( 550-600 thousand ), Zezima and Whitemagem started to go below him, into the 400-500 thousand bracket. And then whitemagem and Musa crashed the prices down to 45 - 55 mark during the #1 smither battle. Zezima was generally undercutting them each as it slowly made its price value down from 400 to 55 thousand. There you have it, the Rune 2 Hander industry summary.
  11. It looks to be an incredibly good month ahead, something I no doubt am looking forward too.
  12. How does wearing a cape (Remeber, capes are worn on your back) help you from getting a face full of dragon breath? (I'd post more, but thats not really needed, is it? I mean perhaps if people gave more thought, I'd spend more than 1 second debugged/attempting to debug or even accept their ideas.)
  13. Now I've been playing RuneScape for a long time now, at the start of february, it will have been 5 years. And truthfully, I believe the 6-8 months leading up to the release of RuneScape 2 was the best period of them game. No updates whatsoever, the game was nice and stable, it was shortly before the collapse of the ingame community. The good thing about it was, you never had any new items coming into the game via updates, you never had people scamming with said new items (Selling brand new 'XYZ') and prices were stable. You could always get yourself a R2H for 45-55k and your larges for 25-30k. Back then RuneScape was stable. Jagex need sit down, think, plan some sort of massive uber update, freeze updating RuneScape for 2-5 months, then have 1 large update, or even do it in stages if they wanted to to help with server load. 1 large update would be seriously AWESOME, and while they are scripting the updates, they can work on improving Customer Support. I would much rather this than 2-5 months of extra little quests.
  14. http://au.pricespy.biz/ Excellent site that has price listings. http://www.msy.com.au is a decent shop. As far as components go, I'd have to suggest a few. AMD 3200+ 64 Gigabyte K8V939 Ultra Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO Corsair Value DDR400 Those are pretty much the staples for a decent computer, try and look for 430W or higher PSUs, and don't use SHAW brand PSU's, they have a compatibility issue with the X800 GTO.
  15. I agreed entirely with you Rizla, if a person is going to go and commit the heinous acts, they would have done it anyway. They just use Video games as an excuse for an insanity plea. :? Jack Thompson, I don't have any problem with him, sure let him try, he has no grounds to base his arguments on? Why should anyone care, he can try and bring down gaming companies, try and start lawsuits against them, try and do whatever. Because in the end, he won't succeed so why should we pay attention to him? He'll get sick of it eventually.
  16. Agreed, a new quest every week isn't going to help the game, maybe 1 large quest a month, that players feel is worth while. Many of the higher spectrum players feel that each quest realeased generally is focused more towards the lower-middle end of players. I think to combat this, Jagex need to implement multi path quests, that ALL players can do. If you have lets say, 50 in 70% of your skills (something I think would be generally easy for most players) you would do things far differently from a person with 75 in 70% of their skills. The Quest rewards should be scaleable, if you can only do path A. you should only get X reward, but if your a higher level and and do path B, C or D you should get be able to get reward Y or Z. I believe that there are many little ways that Jagex could make updates incredibly enjoyable for everyone.
  17. Not really, when using a bandage on yourself, you recieve 20 energy restored. Besides, any decent flag runner shouldn't have people chasing him at melee range. There are plenty of tricks you can do to get away from people.
  18. No, theres a large difference, and I can read, I read the entire Guthan is worthless topic, I even posted on it, its an interesting topic. And from reading that entire thread, it is indeed obvious, even to people who don't read, apparently, because I can come to the conclusion that you are for a better word of it. Oh, and here is a List for you, you can use your reading skills to navigate it and figure out what a Tip.it Crew member is. Oh, and posting an observation makes it. Who would have thought, having an opinion makes it sad, regardless of my position on these boards, I daresay I should be allowed to post what I want to within the rules. But I digress, this is getting away from the topic, lets cut and cut the minimal flaming down to nothing, I wouldn't like a insightful topic like this to get locked. ~Chaosbringer
  19. Thats odd... I could have sworn you thought Guthans was worthless. How silly of me. Torags is perhaps one of the best PvP sets out there. How you ask? Well lets look at it this way. We have people with our Dragon Weapons (Level 60 Attack required) and our Abyssal Whip users (Level 70 Attack required), and generally, we see most people wearing the mainstream armour, Runite (Level 40 Defense required). What the heck? 40 Defense??? Wow, thats quite low, especially when required exp for 40 is 37,224, and 70 is 737,627. So, when using your mainstream level 40 Defense armour, against the level 70 required weapon. My, you would think thats exceeding crazy, wouldn't you? 70 is far superior than 40, over 700 thousand exp over it aswell! And this is were Torags comes in, your having your level 70 armour, versus a level 70 weapon, a far more even match up wouldn't you think? Torags easily availability makes it nice, all you really need to excell is the Plate and Legs, its as easy as that. Going to green dragons to collect some bones and hide? Torags plate, legs, anti shield and a fremenik helmet of your choise, but don't forget your God cape for +magic bonus either! Take that, and you'll have an excellent chance of surviving most melee/range pkers and if you really want to, take a black hide chest for smack on against mages, I daresay unless the pk is very very good, you will generally live. Verac may be the God of Pking sets, however I don't particually find this true, in practice yes, the ITD is a great special effect, too bad the flail is generally slow, and there is no certainty that the effect will even proc! Torags is still an excellent set of armour, (even if your only using 2 pieces of it) And here's a tip, please don't qoute an entire large paragraph of text, and then start yours, In my opinion it makes the pages longer and means that people will have to scroll down past the qouted text and then read you reply. Do something like this. ~Chaosbringer
  20. I don't really think how or why Guthans should drop, it has its price tag for a REASON. Repair price isn't a con persay, I just wear a Rock-shell plate and legs (Because they look exceedingly cool) a Fremmenik helmet, a obsidian shield and my standard legands cape, cooking guants, rune boots. Whenever I get to below 40 hp, i Switch over to my Guthans, heal up within generally 2-3 monsters that I am fighting, and then I'm on my way continuing to train with my non Guthan melee attire. I find a fundemental flaw, if you happened to get low HP, you would have to kill 1 monster to heal 8 HP, what if the monster, generally does 10 damage to you per 1 you kill? Then your in a bit of trouble aren't you. If you we're to start a Kill monster - Pick up bones - Cast spell - Eat routine, I daresay you'd sure up far too many runes to make it worthwhile. Guthans is expensive for a reason, and truthfully, I think its actually quite a steal at 11-13 million, it is a very convinient set of armour, exceedingly useful and looks pretty darn cool. I think that if you can afford it, and you train melee, then you should really go for it and buy this. If you're not happy with your purchase, after a little while repair it (If your really not happy with it you'll find out quickly enough, probably less than 40k all up repair cost I would think) and resell.
  21. Yes, you are bragging, and you must know 8 year olds. I believe that a person doesn't need to spout that they are mature, people should be able to decide for themselves if they think a person is being mature or not. Its actually quite easy to judge if a person is mature or not, all you need to do is have a look at the way they type out a response of some sort. People who are mature, will generally use some sort of sentance structure, make at least some kind of attempt to spell. They will also try and follow some standard formatting, you know, NOT having.. But anyway, I went off topic. WoW, while I haven't played it, I know many people who do, and I was interested in find out more about it, as I was interested in purchasing it. And what I found, was WoW is EXACTLY like RuneScape community wise, you have your 'noobs', your 'eliteists', your 'casual', your 'hardcore' type of gamers. MMORPGS are just that, MASSIVE, as in you can get a MASSIVE amount of players, and logic dictates that if you have enough people, your going to get people who will fall into any catergory. So you can't really judge an entire game on such a small sample space. ~Chaosbringer
  22. A recent sandstorm has uncovered an ancient pyramid between Sophanem and Nardah. Thousands of years under the sand have taken their toll on the construction, but those daring enough to make the dangerous assent to the top will find riches waiting for them. In this agility update you will make your way to the top of a pyramid by jumping gaps, balancing on planks, dodging moving walls and much more. Complete the course for an agility bonus and to find an ancient treasure. This course has an entry requirement of level 30 agility. To find it, move due east from the Crocodile pond north of Sophanem, running past the Wanderer's tent until you see the pyramid. Talk to Simon when you get there! We have also made some slight tweaks to Doric's Quest. Much like with our area improvements last year on Lumbridge and Port Sarim, new graphics and slight gameplay alterations will be added to improve the general feel of the quest. More quests will follow shortly. This will not change any of the rewards, so don't worry, you won't be missing out. Now that the Mage Training Arena has been available for a couple of weeks, we've updated the website with information about its features and the rewards you can earn there.
  23. While I would show up if I could, It's a known fact that I am indeed the coolest guy ever! How could you even think that you are!?!? But alas, being the coolest guy ever does tire you out (I have to sign so many autographs its quite odd really, public appearences, photo shoots, the list goes on all the things I have to do being the coolest guy ever) so I shall be sleeping at 4AM in the morning (I need my sleep for another day's work of being the worlds coolest guy) So unfortunatly I decline your challenge, It would be fun to take you out, noone can compare to the worlds coolest guy ever you see, but I decline, maybe we should have a personal bout of fights that we can post for all of the users to see, that I am the coolest guy ever!! ~Chaosbringer - Coolest guy ever
  24. Finally! The answer to a conundrum that has confounded the best minds in the lands - how do the sand pits stay full? Of course the other question is: whose severed hand is that? Find out with the help of Bert the sand pit worker and his friends in a strange and funny tale of murder, mystery, bad puns and sand. Use your crafty skills in more than one way to gain rewards in both the crafty arts - thieving and crafting! You can also earn Bert's gratitude and a lifetime's supply of sand! Mage Training Arena changes After reviewing some player feedback we felt that the prices of items available in the new Mage Training Arena needing adjusting. Hopefully some of the items will be more affordable and you should be able to buy back a decent amount of runes with the Pizazz points you earn. We have also adjusted the Telekinetic area so that when you complete five mazes in a row you will be given a bonus of ten law runes. The number of mazes you have completed will now be stored if you log out or leave the area so that you can continue where you left off. In other news... Rumours have been heard of a malignant cat dragging innocent people off to a strange mirror world and locking them in jail! If this happens to you, you'll meet an experienced convict known as Prison Pete who'll help you escape. Other rumours speak of an obsessive sandwich lady travelling the world with her tray of tasty morsels. If she offers you a free snack, make sure you take only what she says you can have, or she'll get angry...
  25. Generally, you need a 500W PSU, because that was, if you wish to upgrade your system, with say a better Graphics card, you'll have the required power. If you really can, try and reuse your old screen, you'll be able to get a better graphic card and a more potent PSU then (Try a Sapphire x800 GTO 256MB card) and generally any 500W PSU will do, except for a SHAW brand, that brand is very compatible with the X### series of graphics cards.
