Ned
Edit: there is one TD attack that can be anticipated to not take damage, see 3rd post. Hi :), just a few things: Corrections 1) Battered Door Symbols: The last symbol stands for a mind rune, not a body rune. I used a mind rune on the door and I got through. 2) You cant get any more elite black armour as a rare drop<, but you cannot get another Dagon'Hai robe set so keep this in mind if you decide to sell. Dagon'Hai is dropped by the monks in the Chaos Tunnels, and I think a mod confirmed that Elite Blacks do drop the pieces after the quest, but rarely. Extra Helpful Info 1) The prayer of Dark Warriors/Mages/Rangers and Elite Black Knights runs out after approximately 1 minute. Players can trap them and wait for their prayer to run out, instead of wasting food and/or prayer points. 2) The Druid Spirits only drop the ingredients ONCE. You must get the ingredients yourself if you drop them/don't pick them up. 3) The Balance Elemental wields a fire bow before it uses its range attack, which is worth knowing, as prayer switching is very easy with this. A tactic would be to keep Range prayer on, and switch to mage if it raises its hands, as this is the initial animation before the mage attack. 4) Lucien's Ice Base is accessible after the quest, with a law and death rune + teleorb. The undead trolls have some interesting drops, and are very easy to kill, so it might be worth visiting this place again. 5) (this isn't so important for the quest fight, since you are invincible, but it is useful info for fighting them post-quest) The Tormented Demon attacks look like the following, and protection prayers can be switched more easily when looking out for these signs: Melee: No warning of this attack, but once used, he will use it for awhile and you can prepare for a mage/range attack coming soon. Range: Easy to switch prayers before getting hit. He breaks off a slice from his hand (switch now) and then throws it at you (too late). Mage: Looks like he's about to headbutt you (switch now) but then releases a fireball (too late). The demon generally sticks with the same style of combat before switching. pokemama
I like your post ... but it's hard to verify information that comes well after most people have done the quest. :( 1. Will try to get the rune changed, everyone seems to be in agreement that it is mind not body. 2. Drop issue has been corrected in the tips section of the guide - as a rare drop. 1. Guide does say you can wait for their prayer to run out. I do not have any time trials to check against. :) 2. You are the first person to post that the druids only drop the ingredients once. How many did you kill afterwards before you had to give up and get your own? Cos there were a couple of long stretches for me before I got the next drop. 3. I understood there was no real advance "telegraphing" of the attack change, unlike Jad. I'm not good at this personally - it's all I can do to notice when balls of lightning are hitting my character. As I'm sure you are aware, Jagex tweaked these bosses this week, and I do not know what the changes might be. 4. I didn't find the drops of the Undead Trolls http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?r ... er_id=1222 all that compelling tbh. The quest guide is soooo long that we have to pare down whatever is not essential. 5. Again, I understood there was no real "telegraphing" of attacks. If someone can post confirming your ideas, I'd like to add them, possibly in the Bestiary if not in the Guide. Thanks for your detailed post, it's appreciated. It's very VERY difficult for the Crew to confirm anything on a Quest after we have done it ... that's the hard part. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Ned
I like your post ... but it's hard to verify information that comes well after most people have done the quest. :( Completely agree with you here :x I should have taken some screenshots  You are the first person to post that the druids only drop the ingredients once. How many did you kill afterwards before you had to give up and get your own? Cos there were a couple of long stretches for me before I got the next drop. See, I had a full inventory at one point and dropped some ingredients that they dropped for me. I went to kill/resurrect/bless (whatever it is) them again for the ingredients I dropped, and after about 20 times trying I got nothing. Jagex probably made it this way so people can't generate unlimited snapdragon into the game. Just like the Elite sets, once you receive the items, they aren't dropped anymore (well, for elite, it's rare). Major change happened after this post, I can no longer prayer switch without getting damaged. You are right :wall: now I have to try  . EDIT: You can anticipate one of it's attacks: his non-homing mage attack. In mid-combat, the demon will roar, and approximately 4 seconds later a magic attack will be sent to a random square near your character, similar to the Corporeal beast's non-target attack. It can damage multiple players at once. Here is the picture of what to looks for: After this attack, I would say there is a 75% chance he will change attack styles as well. I didn't find the drops of the Undead Trolls http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?r ... er_id=1222 all that compelling tbh. The quest guide is soooo long that we have to pare down whatever is not essential. True. I plan to test whether they can be used with the Salve Amulet (alternative way for troll tasks?) Ned
I am almost done with an advanced Tormented Demon Luring/Soloing Guide, and I can confirm that telegraphing is no longer possible. pokemama
Rune changed to mind, druid drop noted as once per set. Um. I'll let you take up any monster combat techniques in the Bestiary subforum, as the quest guide is pretty much done with that unless we get a LOT of posts saying our guide doesn't work for the bosses since Jagex's changes. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
