Peterblue
I am currently having a problem with my audio. I have had it for around 3 days, now. Before that I had a problem with it for another day, where there was NO audio. I had a loose cord. However, currently, it's a bit stranger. It plays certain audio. If anyone knows any better examples for me to try, please post them. Plays: iTunes Does not Play: Runescape Most videos, including FaceBook videos Youtube videos - this is the one that finally made me come here, as I was trying to watch Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog, which is apparently very funny. So, if you have any ideas on what I could do, then please post. Also, if you need any information about my computer you will have to tell me how to obtain that. I know pretty much 0 about hardware. D. V. Devnull
Is it possible that iTunes is locking up the sound device? For example, have you tried disabling iTunes (only to test for conflict problems... re-enable after, obviously) at startup, rebooting, and then playing what it is that you wish to play? :-s BTW, I know that PCs aren't supposed to have this problem, but I thought I'd ask... Oh, and if you don't know what you're doing, don't even try this. :anxious: ~D. V. "Just something to test..." D. V. Devnull
Pardon the double-post... I'm having to copy from my PM Inbox... Really wish Peterblue had posted to the thread... Subject: Audio Problem - Selectively Muted Is it possible that iTunes is locking up the sound device? I've only had Vista for around half a year now, and I'm STILL getting used to it(upgraded from 98). Well, I know Win98 had an MSConfig program for handling stuff like this. Unless I'm totally nuts, there should be something similar under Vista. But let someone else confirm what I've said before you go looking. (BTW, please specify your OS next time you have a problem. Sadly, I don't know as much about Vista, as I do XP... This will be my final post to the thread, so I can get out of the way of those that know more.) :-k Oh, and the next time you wish to reply, please don't send it to my PM Inbox. Please reply on the thread, using the button at the thread's bottom, or the "quote" button on my post. Never the PM one. :shame: ~D. V. "Just had to catch me off-guard, didn't you?" Peterblue
Yup. Store bought. I can give you most of the general specs, as I was asking the people in another forum if it was a good deal. (I don't know the specs because I'm not really that interested in hardware) HP Pavilion. 22 inch LCD. AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+. 3.0GB DDR2 Memory. 640 GB Hard Drive. Vista Home Premium(although I could probably get XP). Lightscribe DVD +/- RW. Geforce 8400 GS 256 MB. TV Tuner/PVR/Remote(why would I need this?). Costco Warranty. If you need any other stuff let me know... I really have no clue. Also, this is pretty much a copy+paste, and my PVR question hasn't been answered yet, but I'm not really worried about it. Peterblue
I have 32. I tried to update it, but it said it was as recent as possible. Also, I haven't replied for a day, because I accidentally loosened a cable at the back of my computer, and just figured it out last night. So I still can't hear any videos. Strange. Peterblue
Uninstall my driver? Is this safe to do? Last time I tried to do something like this I borked the audio on my laptop for three years(and never fixed it). So, is there an idiot=proof way to do it? Also, thanks for the help. That is sad if you uninstalled the driver and had no audio for 3 years.... It is safe to do. Just reinstall it or you most likely won't have sound. Might as well try it isn't working very well now obviously. Could be something with your web browser too.
Peterblue
Well, I couldn't find the proper driver last time...(It was a Windows 98) Anyways, I'll reinstall my browser first, if that doesn't work I'll try the driver. Thanks. Reinstalling my browser didn't work. Currently on reinstalling my Driver. Click here to learn the best profit from MTK.
