December 22, 200817 yr I've been neglecting mining for a LONG time(the last time that I trained it it was 30 over my second highest stat), and now that all this clay equipment has been released, I was thinking of finally getting back to it. However, I've heard that clay picks are inferior to rune, is that true? I'm sure that the double xp would easilycounter the slower rate of mining, but I was going to be superheating mith at the guild, and I'd rather not be slowing down smithing(and magic I suppose). Also, is there a better place to superheat+bank mith bars? Perhaps addy bars would be a decent substitue? My stats are at the bottom. December 22, 200817 yr The clay pick is identical to rune in all regards (except looks and the xp bonus naturaly). If you wan't to go one step further, you can use a clay staff for extra superheat xp (I think, not sure on this though)

Are skills necklaces the only option, because I've never actually used those :ohnoes: Yes, skills necklaces are the only option, but they deposit you right at the top of the ladders outside the guild, so it is an extremely efficient banking method. Don't know about the clay equipment, but if you really want to maximize your mining XP/hour, go buy a bunch of addy ore to superheat. You'll be able to mine around 600 coal per hour doing this if you really concentrate. This is very slightly faster than mith because of the less frequent banking trips.
