How Much Video Memory Do I Actually Have?

When i bought my laptop online i coulda sworn it said "256mb" of Video Memory but when i went to check recently i got some different results

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Upper-Left picture is from DXDIAG

 

The Upper-Right picture is from my ATI Catalyst Control Center

 

The bottom picture is from my System Information

 

 

 

Which one is the right one?

 

 

 

If it helps, i have 2gb of Physical Memory

You're getting a higher result because your GPU can share RAM with your computer, and so more RAM is actually available than came with your GPU.

So essentially i can run games that require up to 830mb? or the 128mb. :?

The 128MB appears to me to be the actual amount. Just be careful about running anything that goes upward of that, and you'll be fine. :thumbsup:

The 128mb is dedicated for your graphics card whereas the rest is shared from your system RAM. Dedicated graphics memory beats the pants off shared memory, so the higher dedicated memory you can get, the better.
