Farming skill guide image

Recommended Posts

The Farming skill guide has an image at the top that was destroyed from being in the JPG filetype. Here's one that can replace it, but you don't have to use it.

No need to bump images or suggestions. The crewbies are busy.

In fact, don't bump. This isn't the forum to be doing so and it's kind of insulting to do so.

Hi,

Yes, I know they are quite busy people. You should understand that I mean no insult by bumping because I just want to know if it's been seen or not. In fact, I think they do a great job because if they spend more time to doing something, it means that they're doing a lot of work which is very beneficial to the site. I just don't want this to be at the bottom of the page. ::'

It's understandable that you'd want to improve the picture in the Skill Guide.

However, there are a couple of reasons not to use this picture.

First, it is 80Kb. We are asked to keep our web page file size down as much as we can. I realise that high def images are appealing, but the files are large. While the file size can be reduced, it will still be much bigger than the current image. This will increase loading times, especially for people using slower connections.

I realise the existing JPG isn't as crisp as it could be. But someone reduced the file size as much as possible to get it to 15Kb.

The content of the picture is the other reason for not using it. A still picture of a tree plot does not have the visual appeal of a busy allotment thronging with excited players, which was taken on the first day farming was released in 2005.

I hope this helps explain some of our decisions regarding pictures.

Thanks for wanting to help.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
