Examine button on player

Featured Replies

Thereshould be a examine button on players that the player on his own can fill in.

Example Duke Cas

examines Sir Cas:

(sir cas filld in Selling Red P hat), (I am a super-nooby)

Then it will appear on Duke Cas

That would be handy when u are selling something (Selling Red P Hat) , (...)

The idea it self is nice, like giving the player to say somthing in his examine, like in the MSN, it's nice, but people will abouse it

Way back in the old rs you could examine players.

It said : It's *name*. It was pretty useless

I know ur not supposed too, but since autoers have the runescape source, it probably wouldn't be too hard to put that player examining thing in! But they user wouldn't be able to specify what it says. No i don't auto, but i have had a good look at the RSC source a few times.

It would be extremely hard to do this though. If you did write a program it would only be client side. You'd have to some how change the servers source code. You could make an examine option, but other players couldn't use it.

I doubt anyone's still has the original source with that on it. Remember it gets updated, very frequently now in Rs2, which acts as a weapon against bots.

they have something just like this on Habbo Hotel, i think this would be a great idea, for teh same reason you said. People could put goals, trade offers, funny one liners, etc. I see nothing wrong with this, and think that it would be a well used and enjoyed addition

I always thought this was a fun idea, but I realize it would be difficult to code/implement. And, unfortunately, many would try to write obscene things in their summaries. Too tough for JAGeX to read them all. You'd have to wait to get your summary approved.

double posting is one thing...but triple posting :?: :!: :?: :!:

I always wanted an examine player option also, except it would say their total level.

knightsoforderse9.png

LOL i didnt realize that was a triple post, and read it 3 times, each time thinking I was reading the same thing.

There must be something wrong with me ;)

Bakc on topic, I think that player examining would be awesome.

No, it's just that I'm the guy who writes so nice, you feel like reading it thrice!

Seriously, tho, I am really sorry about that :) I got that "mail server bug" thing when I tried to post, and when I checked the topic it didn't look like my reply was there yet. Please detract 3 from my post count , or maybe 4 for this apology :)

I don't think the total level thing is necessary, btw. Total XP might as well be shown too, then, since you really have to see those together to see how much someone has played.

   It's the most needed thing on runescape :D

and you double posted your name

I quite like the skill total idea. It would stop people thinking combat determined your noobiness. For example:

"Lol Lvl 17 noob"

*Examines*

Skill Total: 1337

*Stumped*

I think you liked my post so much, you wanted to quote it 3 times  But as for your responses, i dont think it would be too difficult to implement, ive seen other games that have done it, and jagex shouldnt have to approve it, not only would it take forever, people would change them so much jagex would fall drastically behind. And about teh obscene stuff, i say let them. If they are stupid enough to walk around with stuff that could get them banned just a click away ( as apose to a mod having to hear it, or a jagex actually listening to a report about language) then let them. The mission/examine thing could be easily changeable in an in game option, such as under the gmae options menu.

I agree with both Kat and Bubs. In terms of the whole combat lvl/total lvl thing, I do think seeing both is better than one or the other. Balanced is good, but then again a lvl 10 combat guy who has 80 mining and 80 smithing is pretty neat. Also, a lvl 105 combat player who doesn't care about herblore is cool, too.

that would be awesome, and everything in runescape can be abused, like "omg chatting with other players would get abused with people saying bad and obscene things" it happens and we report people for it and tell them to stop. It would be the same, but if your that stupid then go ahead and be reported hundred of times.

It should say: "est. (char created:)july 2002, skill total 1337, its just some super newb(ie something that you can write)

100% noob since 2001
